Keep hearing people call the game woke

I plan to get the second game as I have not played it yet, I keep hearing people say the game is “woke” can someone explain to me how exactly the game is woke without any major spoilers? Minor spoilers or moderate spoilers are fine though.

There were atleast three LGBTQ characters in the first game also but I *never* saw a single complaint or post about that game being 'Woke' from these people.
best to just ignore those guys who are clearly angry at certain other spoilery things, and want to express their rage somehow.

Moderate spoiler: the majority of the game is you playing a somewhat regular-looking woman with gigantic arms that look attached Frankenstein-style to her body (they were modeled after the arms of a steroid-using Crossfit athlete, Colleen Fotsch, with hands further enlarged for, uh, expressivity) and the crux of her story is she gets a little trans (not lesbian) buddy and they bond over the course of a couple of days (not the amount of time it takes to cross America). Personally TLOU 1 was pretty eye-roll-worthy for me already, not in the way of being wonk but just being basically a Johnny-Come-Lately the Road/Children of Men/Walking Dead thing with a story to justify journos' selected media to their moms. TLOU 2 pushes it to the next level by not only having asinine pacing but also a nearly incoherently, and assuredly hypocritcally delivered theme in addition to once again pulling on the contemporary journo strings of, "if you don't like this, you must hate women!"

It’s woke as ♥♥♥♥, The game features fantastic gameplay, design, and graphics. However, the story feels like a teenage bisexual telenovela with unnecessary sex scenes, and all the male characters act like complete idiots. I usually enjoy single-player games with strong narratives, but Tou 2 falls short in that aspect.

not as much of PART II , PART II is woke but still a good game
in PART I simply just ignore the DLC and bill might not be gay and most people won't notice bill likes his friend so much but in the TV show he appears as gay and joels daughter is black , didn't expect much from israely jewish writer

didn't know about that , it was only alluded to the game without any sexual scenes but in TV show it was something different that even upsets some people not everyone knew bill could be gay

I played this on ps5 and even if I know the story, I will buy this again, just for the gameplay on pc. It's easy one of the best games in terms of gameplay. Yeah, maybe it's woke and a little bit forced too... but I don't care much about it. If this trigger's you, maybe you should avoid games from Naughty Dog. If not, you probably have a good time with this.

Im more annoyed about the lack of realism
All the devs had to do is at least read a book about our society just in early 19 century and add to it say lawless wild west.

Good Story, scifi, fantasy is rooted in realism, this is what makes it believable and relatable.

California on steroids in Post-apocalyptic world is absolutely unbelievable.


I did enjoyed the game thou, i cancelled my PS4 pre-order [the L.E. with statue] due to the controversy, but later i got digital edition and never touched it.
By the time TLOUS1 PS5 remake came out, the part 2 received some patches on PS5
So i back to back played them both.

The beginning is a cringe and unbelievable, the fact someone that got his life saved would kill the saver is crazy.

But the whole game, gameplay, world [ignoring the drama and woke parts] was INSANE GOOD, I loved it, it was more fun than Part 1, i loved that Hotel level, going from top floor all the way down, it was insane, the flood the boat and so on.

The ending was Cringe again, and they took the CHOICE from the gamer, which is WRONG, they could let us choose: Fight or leave her alone.

Also i dont remeber if it was due to finishing the game or buying the 10$ PS5 Pro upgrade, I got a costume unlock that make Abby look like 80s female in leather jacket, normal arms, she looks punk
