Some studios are just honest with their fans. I've already given an example of Dead Rising, which recently released a remaster on RE Engine. The game is made with new graphics, a new engine, but does not change the aspects of the game, which is why Capcom called it a remaster.

It's cool that Sony made a remaster of the first part based on the second, but for it to be called a remake, they had to do something more. I don't think it would be difficult to improve the fight in some way like in the second part or something else
I'm aware of Dead Rising, and while it's to their credit that they called it "just a remaster", I still think it's probably not the correct term for it. Compare that game to other remasters, and it just doesn't fit. Remasters usually do very little. They enhance the original game. They make it work with modern OS versions, maybe upscale some textures, fix the controls and allow for higher resolutions. But it's still the same original game at its core. As soon as they completely remake the game in a new engine (even with mostly the same old assets), I think it's fair to call it a remake.

That being said, I think maybe we need a third term here. Just like it might not be accurate to put Dead Rising and Command & Conquer Remasterd in the same basket, there is clearly a difference between a 1:1 remake like TLOU and something like RE2 or FF7, whch are basically new games. Maybe something like "reinterpretation" or "reimagination".
Yeah, i think something like “reimagination” more fair for that games. Just some games are more deserve to be called “remake” some game are less

Yea, thats kinda fun. Tlou 2 port was supposed to come out much earlier, but Sony just holding it because of tv show by HBO. And it's weird about Bloodborne. It feels like Sony forgot about this game without even updating it for the PS5 or they are doing some kind of “remake”

I'll add a little bit about Dead Rising. I liked that the developers added a lot more languages in the new Remaster. They added voice languages and even in Russian. So Capcom did a pretty good job, but still called the game a remaster

I think Steam spring discounts are expected for the Until Dawn discount. Because the Until Dawn movie is coming out in April, there will most likely be a discount before the movie.

It's £10 cheaper than TLOU but still probably £10 too expensive. I think other retailers in time like GMG may have some good voucher offerings taking it to below £35 for me. Oh well, I was expecting £59.99!

Part 1 is a full on visual remake. Part 2 is just a remaster.

Guys, here is a remaster of the second part in 2024, so it is newer than the first part, and the question is still why is it cheaper than the first part?
yeah, i thought it'd be around 70 guid since its both remastered and a pc version

To be fair I think its still too much for a game 5 years old that pushes trans agenda.

Could be cause part 1 didn't sell as well on steam as they would have hoped. Also, this game was already 3 years old when the part 1 remake came out on PC.

I'm glad it's cheaper either way.

Yes, but i should buy PS5 first to save on the game lol. And i don't need PS5. Even for GTA6.
But if it makes you feel better then sure, write more.
