rope throw chapter 2 PATROL

When prompted to throw rope over pipe, ellie just drops it. can't continue with game because of this. any advice? using the key prompts shown. but doesn't work. help

Are you aiming with the left trigger (if controller) before trying to throw it?

right mouse to aim. just in case you dunno the mechanic yet.

the prompt that comes up is rt mouse button to aim and left mouse button to throw. i am at the circle on the beam but it still NOT WORKING. it appears when i press to throw her hand is not grasbbing the robe. she just drops it. going nuts here!

Did you change any of the default key bindings that might be interfering with it? If using m/kb, try switching to a controller just to see if that works?

hold rmb until she grabs and starts to gather the entire rope after pressing E to interact with it, once that is done you will see a preview of where you can throw this., she will audibly confirm I think, and you will visually see it held up properly. Yes, it gets confusing with the option to grab it again, because of where you are standing when you do throw the rope.. so instead ,after you toss it , ignore that option. jump down. Hit space and then hold w to climb it. once high enough hold Q and tap w and s to swing back and forth until you have a swing going then hit space again to land on the other side.

Guys thanks for your responses. I did finally figure it out. i had multiple duplicate keyboard controls. and because of that i was unable to use the prompts shown to me in game. cleared the duplicates in keyboard and mouse settings. Bingo!
