Pretty much, As much as the story draws mixed opinions, This game is basically a story of loss and revenge begetting revenge.
Joel killed Abbie's dad who was the surgeon in the first game, Abbie finds her dad's body in the operating room with Owen standing over him, Abbie goes on a quest for revenge and ends up killing Joel, This sets off a revenge quest in ellie who killed Owen and the pregnant girl, which sets off another quest for revenge in Abbie where she kills Jesse.
It's revenge begets revenge and the cycle only ends when lev walks in on Abbie and makes Abbie second guess herself and allows Ellie and Dina to live or she'll risk losing the only person in her life that's still by her side.
Ellie however still can't let go and sacrifices her life with Dina in order to chase after Abbie and only then does she see a flashback of Joel and works out that revenge isn't worth it, Then the final section of the game shows Ellie has lost everything and is all alone, Something that she said scared her in the first game.
It's the oldest tale of revenge and it's there to paint a picture that revenge quests always end badly and in turn it can hurt people not even involved in what caused the revenge quest to be initiated.
That's at least what my understanding of it was, Whether that was what naughtydogs intention was or not.. idk.. but that does seem to be what lesson they're appearing to try to teach.
the minority that bought it obviously love it cuz they are the target audience & that crowd cares more about the message in the game & normalizing what was once frowned up on.
So the Game is almost out for 4 Years on PC? Wow..thats new one.
I thought that after the first game. I admit I'm struggling a bit with Ellie-the-psychopathic-revenge-crazed-mass-murderer. I've been feeling a little uncomfortable at the number of times I'm essentially forced by the game to cut the throat of some unsuspecting person who's just been chatting away to their friend, and is clearly identical in nearly all respects to those just trying to survive their way in Jackson.
There's always something a little off about a plot in which the main protagonist justifies their actions because of the trauma they suffered from the death of a loved one, yet then goes on to cause the same trauma to literally hundreds of others without ever considering whether that might not be the best course of action!
I know you seek attention. But you are annoying. So stop it or, yea..you know what.
I'm annoying because I corrected you?
Stop it or what? You going to block my profile? Like it makes any difference.
I have my own issues with it but overall it's still a great game
you're absolutely right about the reviews. these freaks can't just review bomb the game, because you have to buy it and play it before you can leave a review, so what they end up doing is just awarding jesters on every review their filthy hands can reach.
nevermind these people and just enjoy the game and the experience it gives you!
