game randomly erasing some progress or alot

so has anayone else found a glitch where you normally play the game and when you quit and come back some or alot of your progress is gone? i just quit the game on Day 3 and when i reloaded i was at the Serephite Stalker part? i lost around 45 mins of my time??

Yeah I lost like 2 hours and a half. When you start a session try and save manually, if it's bugged it'll show that is currently autosaving and it won't let you save manually. If that happens don't even bother trying anything, just restart the game and test again if you can save manually.
I got pretty mad about that so i've been saving manually every 20 minutes or so

For me it's back to last checkpoint every time regardless if I saved after that. For now, I'm making sure to reach a checkpoint before exiting the game.

Are you all using OneDrive? Seems to be a known issue based on the pinned post. I am and just lost 4 hours of progress since there was no indication whatsoever it wasn't saving...

Unfortunately you don’t. For future reference, until they fix it at least, pause syncing on onedrive while playing. It’s worked well for me - everything saves as it should. I do still check to see if I can manually save every so often just to be sure.

Unfortunately this guide does not apply. It would appear as though backup save files are only made AFTER saving the new file, so my backup save folder just had auto-saves from before it first failed to save.

I checked file version history in OneDrive as well to no avail. As SatoDoge said above, unfortunately it would appear as though you just don't get it back...

This is not a bug, so stop calling it a bug. It's actually a game feature believe it or not. It says in the patch notes after every update, that if you continue playing right after a new patch releases, all of the progress will not be saved, except for collectibles. You're supposed to alt-tab from time to time and make sure a new patch hasn't released. I know it's very dumb. But for Nixxes, this is normal apparently. Same thing was happening with Spiderman 2. Yet another port from Nixxes.

I would say quit OneDrive altogether, it's quite a useless program when playing Last of Us Part 2 anyways, why would you need OneDrive to backup your progress when Steam does it already....?
