pc or ps5?
How is this game on the pc? Should it play better on it or is it better on the console play?

EDIT:

Just bought it on steam and wanted to thank you all for the advice and comments.
I got a ps5 and pc and wached olmost all the reviews on youtube. But I have to stress that waching stuff on youtube is just an indication and not a real assesment for my own pc nor console, thats the fact. Anyhow honestly hope it will run just fine in my configuration on my 'older' pc here and if not I install it on my newer pc or will get it for my console, if I got some cash laying around still somewhere. The main reason as well is that I suck with an controller and probly better off wit M/K in all. Will see what happens I will play in an hour when I am back home.

Again thank you all for your honest oppinions I really appreciate it guys/girls. Peace! 👍🙏🍻

Also, the PC version allows to play with m+keyboard.

Visually, the game looks significantly better on a PC compared to a console. However, the gameplay itself remains unchanged.
The performance heavily depends on your hardware configuration – even a mid-range gaming PC can easily outshine the PS5.
It plays the same, just looks better and offers more than 30fps - that's kinda the point of the remaster.

For now the ps5 provides the smoother overall experience. This game only compiles shaders for the area you first load into on pc, and then it compiles shaders on the fly. Even with a 9800x3d and 5090 digital foundry had shader compilation stutter (and other issues i'd describe more as freezing the stutter could be so prolonged).

There is a visual uptick, but honestly your going to struggle to see the difference. It is there but this isn't a cyberpunk type situation where the pc version is generationally better looking. Rather there are some increased lods and lighting looks lighter, though it should be noted that the lod on vegetation and shadows is sometimes better on ps5, which to me suggests this port still needs some work. There are also some effects missing on pc (though quite minor) and the lighting is lighter (which is a different look but one i'd say is hard to describe as better). Shadows do have a better resolve on pc (when they don't have issues poping in to close to the camera), but it is one of those things that I don't think many will notice when playing.

If your not in a rush i'd wait to see if the ports issues are fixed. Pc if these issues are fixed will be the better place to play it. However if you want to play it now, and want a stutter free experience, at least for now, ps5 and even ps4 are the better options.

PS5 in quality mode is 4k @30fps, or 40fps if you have a 120hz display, in performance mode it is 1440p 70 -100fps.

This is incorrect. The PC version is vastly superior. When console people bring up "stutters and other issues" they fail to understand that even if a pc game has those, which this game is not effected by,the pc version will still be a better experience. Never, ever trust a console warrior on there take when it comes to comparisons.

LOL - It seems like the war is starting quickly. On my PC, there's no stuttering because the CPU isn't under much strain, and the NVMe drive can read and write fast enough. Still, his review was honest and neutral—so why start criticizing console users already? Consoles absolutely have their place; they offer a decent gaming setup for a relatively small price.

Not in this one, midrange gaming pc will just about get the same quality as PS5... It's not that greatly optimized.
On max settings it does look a bit better on pc, especially shadows, but i am not sure if it justifies the demands.
At least at 4knative my 4080 can not hold 60 fps at all times at max settings.
In the foliage heavy first scene of the game it can immediately drop slightly below 60.
In most scenes though it will probably hold 60.

Lol, you are desperate calling me a console warrior. The pc version scales ahead of console in some areas, but it isn't a huge difference, and it also has some aspects that are simply worse with some areas with worse lod for vegetation and shadows. The pc version also is missing some graphical effects.

The pc version is also affected by stutter as it doesn't compile them all before playing, rather it tries to do it on the fly. Any it hasn't compiled before it needs them will cause stutter. It is harder to replicate them as easily as usual as it is trying to do them all ahead of time as you play, but due to how it does it on the fly this cannot be guaranteed. Stutter is going to happen, your just another person claiming like so many did that a game that stutters doesn't (silent hill 2 and dead space, games that have horrendous stutter had people like you claiming they had none).

I have pc and console and much prefer pc as a platform (have a quick look at my profile). However this game absolutely stutters and if you want no stutter, pc is not the place to get it. The devs could fix this quite quickly, but as of right now, you can expect stutter from this release on pc.

Some people are not very bothered by stutter and that's completely fine. For me it completely ruins the experience. I have pushed through games with it on pc at a high frame rate, and have come to the conclusion I would prefer playing those same games at 30fps without stutter (console are not immune to stutter either, just in this case TLOU2 does not stutter on ps5 or ps4 and does on pc).

If you have PS5 version already - ffs don't buy ANOTHER copy.
If you don't have a PS5 version (even tho you have a PS5), buy a PC version.

PS5 in quality mode is 4k @30fps - Don´t complain about "can not hold 60 fps @4K native" :D

Part of the DF video is true, but some part of it is incorrect and based on a review sample.
Also some of the stuttering bugs is exclusive to the pieces of hardware they are using.
And the increased quality of shadows is quite significant in my opinion... it's not a small increase, it's a whole another level of shadow quality.

If you find it to be a whole other level that is fine, we all see things a little different, my point is more this isn't a huge visual upgrade akin to cyberpunk on pc versus console. Where the ps5/series x version there feels generationally (or more) behind the pc release and the ps4/xbox one versions are embarrassing and should never have been released.

The game still stutters as per several other people testing performance, it isn't always at the exact same spot due to how it is trying to precompile shaders as you play. Technically someone could get lucky and not have it happen (likely if they play slow and steady to be less of an issue with high end hardware). But you shouldn't have to rely on any luck to not have stutter, this game runs at 1080p 30fps on low to mid range hardware from 2013 without stutter.
midrange me plays pcs4pro+ and it's all good. wdym?

He came with console warrior talking points. "Struggle to see the difference" PS5 smoother overall experience"
I have a ps5, I have this game on there. I have Pc, I have the game there too. There is a big difference. I don't struggle to see it. The game doesn't stutter. I haven't had any issues with stutter at all. I'm sorry if I offended you by calling out nonsense when I see it.

Written like somebody who hasn't played it on pc. It doesn't compile on the fly, It compiles at the start of a new area, it takes seconds. It isn't constantly compiling as you play the whole time. I have it here on PC and on my PS5. It is vastly superior on my PC.

Which is compiling on the fly (it is compiling them as you play), as you enter an area it starts compiling shaders in real time, if you encounter any of those shaders before it is done you will stutter. There is not a new load screen beyond the first. I never said it was compiling at all times or that it only compiled when the shader occurred. As you will stutter on pc at times it is objectively smoother on console currently. You are okay with some stutter, and have said as much. but if smoothness at all relates to consistency which it does to most, then the pc version is not as smooth as it is not as consistent with its frame times and has stutter.

I really am tired of people defending ports to pc which are not quite there, there where apologists for TLOU1 also on pc claiming it worked flawlessly on there system also, when that game launched in a terrible state. Demand better, missing effects, some instances of lower lod's, launching with bad mouse control, stutter issues, crashing issues etc are all things that should not be happening on any semi modern pc for a game designed around a base ps4.

"It works on my pc" energy, and "you haven't bought it so you don't get to discuss it" when you can objectively see the issues in frame time graphs in many videos, is honestly why we get so many bad pc releases.
