I don't dislike abby (spoiler)
[/spoiler] she was obviously trying to redeem herself for what she did to Joel by helping Yara and Levi. She avenges her dad, then At the end of Joel's torture you can see her face have a bit of regret when she hears Ellie's cries, let's her go- then from her pov you see the girl you let go kill all your friends and bf. She didn't know Joel had a psudeo daughter. Yes I know the cure was bs and would've never worked etc I'm just saying from her point of view I can see her actions justified in that world. And for some reason they made Ellie annoying during those party flashbacks. Point is the game is about the cycle of violence, at the end even though Ellie has nothing left (except maybe tommy) she got her run back and now they're even. That's why she didn't kill her, and I think maybe another part of her thinks that even if she killed her at the end, that wouldn't have fixed how she mistreated Joel before his death

Neil said the cure would have work, regardless though, I don't think she was trying to redeem herself in anyway by helping yara or lev, it was just they were kids and they helped her and she helped them, she also had learned that owen helped a scar so /shrug.

Yup, he is full of BS. Which means the cure can never work and Joel did the right thing saving Elle so she can go to the right doctors in Fedra held areas.

If it didn't then joel killing for fireflies for ellie would be far lest impactful.

tbh i feel like people would like Abby if the story was told right

The player right off the bat is taught to hate abby and is the main target for the whole story, but then trys to tell her story when its too late

I feel like she was trying to do a self redemption, because before she went back to messed up arm Yara and Lev in the trailer park she had her usual dream of her dad's death but it just cut to them, and when she went back and got them out of there and into the aquarium, the dream became just her dad smiling at her alive in the operating room. Even when Yara asks "why are you helping us" she says "because I have to" in a sorta desperate tone, I know them being young helps but I think that's what the narrative was attempting to do with her story
