Hardest part for you
What was the toughest section of the game for you gameplay-wise, and what difficulty did you play on?

For me, I’d say the Hillcrest houses were the hardest part during Ellie’s section. It felt like there were 30–40 enemies plus dogs. I was playing on Grounded and it took me over an hour to get through that part since these enemies can one shot you and are like playing with aimbot.

In Abby’s half, it’s been even worse so far. I'm on Day 2 now and I still haven’t been able to craft much that would really help. There seem to be way fewer resources to scavenge, and the fights are way more intense.

For Abby, the first really tough part was the train tracks. There’s almost no loot, the area is super stretched out, and enemies can spot you from a distance. On top of that, your companions are so brain-dead they constantly push you out of cover or block your path, making it impossible to shoot or run away and they won't even help you in fight. It took me a while to figure out that staying under the train on the left side is mostly safe.

Then, the hardest section for me so far with Abby was when you meet Lev and Yara the first time, and you get thrown into that small building full of infected where the door gets locked behind you. I have to admit, I couldn’t get through that without Godmode. You just don’t have enough ammo, enemies barely drop anything on Grounded, and you get completely overwhelmed by Clickers, Runners, and Shamblers. It was pure pain...

Abby, hospital basement, the unique and most annoying mutant in the entire game.
Restaurant Holdout as Abby IMO. Rat King ain't ♥♥♥♥ compared to that part.

Playing on Grounded, it was the pretty mundane section when walking along some train cars being patrolled by Scars. I had very few bullets and it took me a while to adjust my approach to one that would work. Probably died 20 times or more there. After that it was the very last encounter with the Rattlers. That probably took 15 attempts.

Strangely enough the actual boss encounters were the easiest part of playing on Grounded. Beat all bloaters and Rat King on first attempts.

Hillcrest on grounded is def the single hardest part of the game, bar none. 30 mofo's and dogs and only one spot to not be flanked. (thank you sofa)

I thought Abby's missions would be overall harder but now I'm almost done with grounded and no, not really. All you have to is camp out behind a wall in a non flanking position, when the NPC is closing run at them and beat them to a pulp in melee, run back in cover and rinse and repeat. Most of the infected areas you can just blitz or stealth through.
Hillcrest is very difficult, but it's also because there are forced sections where they automatically know where you are. Which makes zero sense since they shouldn't be able to know how I travel through it.

Some of the scars are very tough because they are difficult to spot.. I ended up sneaking through most of it

Some things become more difficult depending the monitor you're using. The rat king area is very dark and LCD was not really good for that. OLED made it easier
