First of all, when i know i'm going to play a game at some point, i find it easy to get far away from trailers, spoilers, and all which was the case for me on this licence so i jumped in for the first time and did the two of them in like 2 weeks with a friend who was a pure fan of them, wanting me to stream my experience all the way.

Those game were BY FAR the best solo adventure narrative games i've played in 30 years of gaming and knowing that last of us 2 cost only 220M to produce is just mindblowing to me, especially when i turn my eyes to see AC Shadows a 300M+ game, generic as hell, same game, no effort, a generic minimum narration with bad voice acting and a gameplay so old. The number of great ideas, ingenious, innovative and unique there is in both TLOU is crazy. I was away from those type of games, really scripted, for a long time cause gameplay was sorely lacking in most of them but god, that TLOU franchise did a torrific job. THIS is TRIPLE A experience players want for a 70€ game. I also precise i did the games in Survivalist, which is the penultimate difficulty to feel like a survivor going through an old post apo world where ressources are rare and where 3-2 bullets can kill you, i wanted to feel a sence of challenging achievement finishing them. Let's go for my feedback now :

The narration is obviously the biggest strenght of the TLOU games, with a well done rhythm and a so great build up with the relationship between all characters, all makes sense. The world is brutal and represent a really convincing post apocalyptic world. The artistic direction is so good that tone of studios tried to copy it after, the graphism serves astounding visuals and i've never seen THAT great of character animations, especially the faces. The emotion intensity going through a 3D face animation is amazing. Also, you know when we say a good piece of art, the love put into is felt by the details, this game is FILLED with details in every areas (gameplay, level design, sound, etc), you feel like 1000 hours of craft have been spent in every 50m². The scenario, even if a good amount is predictible is so pleasant to experience. It's cinema, for real. And finally, where other games in this genre failed to do a really great job, the gameplay. The progression feels great, getting better weapons and upgrading them is really cool, and the melee combat is one the best i've experienced, all genre included. It's brutal, at its peak. I was a freaking psychopath when i was in melee combat in this game, i got afraid of myself. AWESOME ! And this make me come to my last point and not the least, the AI. The AI of 2013 game (for TLOU 1) is OUTSTANDING and RIDICULIZING the AIs of studios like Ubisoft, i mean, experiencing those AI humans was like "YEAH ! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS BEGGING FOREVER!". The human AI is so real, beside being intelligent, it acts, and speak, and cry like a human, which makes combat with them so intense and immersive.

Conclusion, i'll never forget those 2 weeks of TLOU, i was SO empty after it, i couldn't play another triple A for a long time because all felt so far away from the quality of those 2 games. Just the end game with the arcade mode and all the bonus in TLOU 2 just tell you how respectfull and generous they are to their player base. These are true piece of art that have took a direction, with a vision and stick to it, even if it divide. If you wanna know what is not a piece of art in video game, its a video game where you feel mid about it, like it's a ok game, cause they try to make them as popular as possible, making money first to not irritate any major groups of person, so they make their game as generic as possible. Finally i will conlude on what my friend told me about the wokism drama on TLOU 2 and just said that beside the body shape that is unrealistic for a woman for one character, two useless light sex scenes (i found sex scenes always useless 99% of the time in movies and in games but its not a big deal either) and one DEI line that was stupid in 40 hours of gameplay, the game is so freaking good. I really feel like it's a over the top reaction drama but i'll tell you what i said to my friend, it happenned in the middle of DEI problems everywhere so most players seeing just one homosexual character in a trailer was inoff to light the torch, so i don't blame them but if they have not play the game for this, i'll suggest them to go for it. My friend is not far right but close and TLOU 2 is his favorite game of all time, so... I'm a complete antiwoke, antiDEI and anti-LGBTQ+ bullsheets (not the person, lot of intelligent and nice people in those genre) we heard, but i'm not against LGBTQ+ regular person themselves, the proof is TLOU 2 which instantly goes in TOP 3 best games of all time and which have characters i'll not mention, in those groups. Just give me great characters, well written, that are not defined by their gender and who have not for only purpose to be a political revendication and i will love it. But i have to admit that the future is not bright for the franchise cause when i see the TV Show it's like disgusting how bad it is considering the pure art they had with those 2 games that are freaking million miles ahead in terms of deep narration, deep characters, writing, etc. And i learned that the man who made the games was one of the main producer on the TV Show and approuved a lot of it so it seems like he have gone on the dark side but only the future will tell. Anyway, missing on those two pieces of art would be a shame, do them, they are INCREDIBLE.

That's all, just wanted to take the time to congrats the team behind these gems that have affected me a lot, THANK YOU
