I'd only change to cut down on power usage, you'll likely not notice anything in the game as the GPU is a bigger limitation
Everything has a failure rate.
How many 9800x3ds failed?
Going to guess, fewer than 1%.
That supposedly was not quite true. Bios update and the memory works.

No, even 11700k is stable and runs the game like a dream, smooth as silk paired with a 4070Ti.
BUT, if you were to upgrade -
Gaming only? = 9800X3D
Gaming + Work/Productive stuff? = 14700k. Save yourself £150 from the price of a 13900k. 14th gen problems were fixedapparently. No point shelling out £££ for a 14900k either, when the 14700k is more than enough + the heat and throttling of the 14900k, screw that. And i would avoid the 285k and all the other sh!te that came out recently from Intel.
My PC is gaming only, so i would personally go for a 9800X3D. But honestly, I don't need it. You only need to upgrade if your struggling to run games.
And the question was already answered.
He doesn't need an upgrade.
