So I personally just want to be done with it lol.
I'm using a 4090 with an i9 13900K.
Solid specs for your PC, i am a bit lower than you by a generation, also Intel/Nvidia combo and I had two crashes overall in the mode during my 18 hours playing it, compared to the first game in the series which was a disaster at launch for me this port is great so far, From google search results i found out that if the game crashes while you are still in the encounter it is considered a death and you lose progress unless you are in the hideout when the crash happens, best of luck to you.
I think a big part of it is actually my CPU though. There's a big problem with the 13900K and 14900K processors that have since been fixed with the latest bios updates. But the problem already degraded my card pretty badly before that microcode update came out. So when I hit shader compilations in games it's real hard on my cpu and the game crashes. It wouldn't be a problem if the all the shaders compiled at the beginning of the game instead of throughout the entire playthrough.
I ordered a new 14900K card though which will be here wednesday so hopefully it will fix all of my issues with shader compilations.
