I have RTX 4070 + Ryzen 7600X + DDR5 32Gb 5600MHz...and i still cant play this game.
I just finished playing one of my all-time favourite game TLOU PART I for the fourth time at QHD on MAX settings without any upscaling up to a pleasant 50-70 fps. Logically I expected the same from PART II, since it's an older game than PART I.
Well, unfortunately, in the 10 hours I have on this game, I haven't played a single second of it and all my time was spent in the menus trying to get the game to work somehow.

As soon as I start a "New Game" it starts loading and then compiling shaders, it never finishes though as the game crashes to 1 fps after a few minutes of crashing a window pops up saying I don't have enough memory.
Well, logically it pissed me off, but I gradually started to lower the graphics settings and the resolution of the game and waited for the game to at least turn on and throw me into the gameplay, unfortunately it never happened.
I got to the stage where I was launching the game at 720p and the lowest possible settings, without any Nvidia "enhancements" (DLSS, FG, LOW LATENCY, etc.....) and even then, the game kept crashing and throwing a message to my face about lack of memory...

I know Iron Galaxy totally messed this port up, but it has your name on it Nixxes, which means it's your responsibility.
Please fix it, these ports are getting ridiculous.

Did you disable the graphic unit of your CPU?

Dude are you drunk? This is a good port lol, the only issue so far have been even if aim assist is turned off it still acting like it's looking on to people when you aim in, other than that the game havn't had a snigle issue.

I did...
I downloaded the optional 25.3.2 driver provided by AMD, got the latest Nvidia drivers, tried downloading older versions of the Nvidia drivers as well, as I read that it helped some people.

I changed the virtual memory of my PC, tried running the game in different modes (Full screen, exclusive full screen, windowed), tried running the game without DLSS, without FG, without Nvidia Reflex Low Latency and without Dynamic Scaling.

I've tried enabling the game in my anti-virus and fire-wall, I've tried installing all the support programs in the game's local files

we won't even talk about things like file integrity verification

Just because you don't have a problem, doesn't mean others don't...There are thousands of discussions all over the internet from people who have problems with this game...
I've been looking forward to this game since 2020 and I'm convinced I'm going to love it, but I haven't been able to even run it yet.

I'm sorry, I have no problems like that, and this makes me wonder why systems are reacting that differently. From my perspective, this is about a driver, but I'm not familiar with AMD (you get it). I guess your memory works as intended, and you have no problems like this with other games?

No problems in other games.
I've tried it in Cyberpunk and also in TLOU PART I, which runs perfectly... as I mentioned before, with the MAX setting at QHD I get around 50-70 fps in PART I.
I'm currently reinstalling the whole game again and also going to do all the drivers and maybe a BIOS Update... hope it hleps...

A BIOS update isn't mandatory. It highly depends on what's in it. Doing the rest is a good idea. Good luck.

Ye mines pretty much unplayable as well it lasts maybe 5 mins and just crashes with no error. Another bad port. Sonys reputation is in tatters this gen sadly. Handing out jobs for PC ports to studios that clearly cant do it. Just have to refund or wait for updates

I think you should try older stable drivers from December. NVIDIA newest stuff is totally broken. There are plenty of ppl with 4070 that does not have the issue so might be just Nvidia problem.
Did you try out a clean driver uninstallation with the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Windows Safe Mode before you've installed all of the different driver versions? I recommend to do this as well as inform yourself first (with google for ex.) which driver is stable in TLOU 2. It could also be helpful to update the chipset drivers of your motherboard, too.
First step i do is the uninstallation of GPU with the windows device manager, no new start afterwards.
2nd step i iuninstall the driver with the Revo Uninstaller (freeware) tool which also cleans the left nvidia registry keys as well as files on drive c:, then i use msconfig to let windows boot in safe mode.
3rd step is the DDU process in safe mode (important: under options there's a point which deactivates the automatic driver installation of Windows). Click on clean driver and reboot again, but be shure to use msconfig before to avoid a second boot into safe mode.
4th step is a clean driver installation and reboot of windows afterwards.

I have another problem... R7 5700X and 4060TI and i have 25-35 frames on low. I checked Part I and i have the same problem.
I found a solution !!!!!!!!
My problem was so called “ Not enough video memory”.
And although the fix is stupidly easy, I absolutely do not understand it.

1)
Press the Windows key on your keyboard, type sysdm.cpl and press enter.
2)
Go to the Advanced tab and press Settings under the Performance section.
3)
Press the Advanced tab in the Performance Options window.
4)
Under Virtual memory, press Change.
5)
Tick the box for Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
6)
Restart your computer.

OFFICIAL NIXXES FIX [support.nixxes.com]

What I don't understand is that I have changed Virtual Memory before as I mentioned, but I changed it manually. I first set the exact value, then 1,5x bigger and then 3x bigger and it didn't help either time. However, after I checked “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” suddenly the game started working. I just can't understand why manual settings didn't work and automatic did.....
Anyway, it runs and runs beautifully.
Thanks everyone for the help and have a great time!!!!!!
