The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered

The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered

Why are graphics worse than the first game?
Just finished my 3rd play-through of the first game and I have to say the graphics are better somehow. Updated all plugins for both games. Instantly part 2 looks worse. Running both games fully maxed out and with DLAA (4070 Ti Super). Textures in part 2 look noticeably worse and the game just feels more like a straight port than a remaster which is in the title. Anyone else?

For me, the frames are so stuttery, I have to reduce graphics to High and obviously use DLSS. You're right though, the graphic looks to sharp whilst pixellated at the same time. It looks horrendous. I'm gonna have to lower DLSS to balanced just to get some frames on my 3080 ti ffs, so now it's gonna look even worse.

I recommend updating the plugins because they are all outdated, like every single one of them. I don't know why devs love to do this. From Nvidia streamline to FSR 3, dstorage, DirectX, etc. Even with updating all of these, having latest Nvidia driver etc. the game feels like a game that came out 6 years ago.
it's because Part I is a remake. they didn't change anything noticeable in part II remastered version except for some few things. also watching DF review, somehow this post is worse than ps5 version.

cause AAA games are currently trash IP's, "remakes" that are actually over priced demakes and releases of somewhat profitable franchises cause 90% of gamers are sheeps eager to lose money for slop
part 1 is a port from a ps5 game. part 2 is a remaster for a ps4 game

This comment doesn't even make sense.

"AAA games are currently trash" - this game is 5 years old.

"Somewhat profitable franchises" - TLOU is the 5th most profitable franchise in Sony's 30 year history, despite having only two titles.

"Slop" - one of the most critically revered games ever, and even for people who dislike the narrative, a objectively technical masterpiece for its time.

Less time being angry and edgy. More time actually critically thinking about your opinions before deciding they're worth sharing with others.

So did part 2 not make it to PS5? I guess I assumed this was a remaster from PS5

Literally have no idea what your on about.
Gotta wait for The Last of Us™ Part II Re-re-re-re-re-re-remake coming in a year or two after they re-re-re-re-remake the first one again for the 7th time.
TLOU part 1 is a full remake (new assets etc) released in 2022

TLOU part 2 was originally released in 2020, and remastered (not a full remake) in 2024
They look mostly the same to me, I think you're just noticing that some textures are lower quality? If that's so, it's probably got something to do with more locations in the game already pushing it to 150GB so they have to do a trade off somewhere.
Sony's remasters are not good. And it's a 5 years old game, 4 when the remaster was done, I just don't see the difference between playing here or on PS5 or on PS4.

disable film grain, motion blur and DLSS.
If by first game you mean The Last of Us Part 1 released in 2022, them yes... That's because it is. Part 1 is the remake of the original that came out in 2013.
This here, Part 2.. came out in 2020, 2 years before Part 1.

So yes, Part 1 is an upgrade and it does look slightly better with upgraded character models and whatnot.

Part 2 was a PS4 game, Part 1 is a PS5 game.

Because the aggressive Sharp filter in the game seems wrong. There is a mod that removes it and the game looks fantastic. Definitely better than part 1.
