Clickers detecting me from behind while I am slow walking
Title

Currently slow walking (holding the slow walk button while crouch moving) for me does not prevent clickers from detecting me. They detect me the instant I take a step. This prevents me from getting close enough to stealth kill them, as this detection radius, while smaller than the fast crouch radius, is much larger than the stealth grab radius.

Is this a bug? The game tooltips say to use slow walk while crouched to get close to them but it very clearly does not work. I am completely behind the clicker and they are not making any clicking noise.

I don't understand this post

Am I missing something other than be behind them and hold the slow walk button while crouching? If there is "careful" beyond that please explain what you are talking about.

within a certain distance on higher difficulties, clickers hear you even at the slowest movement speed and can also see you if youre close behind them with echolocation

you need to approach them slowly/using cover to get close, then once youre at the sweet spot instead crouchwalk at full speed to reach them before they have a chance to detect you.
I think this might be an unintended consequence of keyboard and mouse, as I can do a very slow crouch walk on controller and easily get within clicker grab range. One thing that might be worth checking is enabling the grab prompt if it is hidden for you so you can gauge when you are able to grab them, its often a bit more lenient than expected, and you can usually grab them even as they turn around from hearing you.

you cannot reach clicker grab range soley by slow walking on survivor/grounded diff, even on controller
same here. full sneak and they smell me somehow. that's only on moderate, btw, kinda breaks the stealth game. :)
