Aiming made bad intentionally?
Is that was their intention that I can't aim headshots normally? The mouse input is smooth but as soon as I start aiming at a head something feels wrong like the mouse becomes heavy or something

maybe your aim sensitivity is too low? or if you mean the weapon sway? the sway is definitely intentional. there are upgrades that can alleviate the sway a bit.

Could be the sway yes. Though it's interesting that the sway it becomes a thing only when I'm aiming at someone but otherwise the control is smooth
there is also an option in game to completely turn off the sway. Options > Accessibility > Combat Accessibility > then turn on Enable Combat Accessibility then you can turn off Weapon Sway.

Use regedit and go to
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Naughty Dog\The Last of Us Part II\Input"
and set "EnableMouseSmoothing" to "0"

That should help with the mouse aiming.

Thank you all! I think I got the hang of it, for now not willing to make it easier than it should be

I tried to get used to it, but the game is stressful enough on grounded
So I ended up using the regedit fix that MrBeat suggested above

Actually yes the aiming is how they meant the game to be played. The game actually has weapon sway and recoil which is why there are upgrades to reduce these lmao But that’s why the aiming feels more natural with controller on this game. That weight you’re talking about is a mechanic.

the bad aiming actually started back with uncharted 3 on ps3
they had to patch it in to make the aim better later on

they just never learned from that point on!
You've probably checked, but you don't happen to have left aim assist on? That would certainly throw you off only when going for the head.

The weapons do sway somewhat, and you can do weapon upgrades to reduce how much they sway.

It's not clear if it's intentional or a control bug. I'm leaning towards the latter because there is no tutorial on how the sway works, and they do show A LOT of tutorials on every aspect of the game during death loading screens

It just feels weird when playing with a mouse because the game was designed with analogue sticks in mind. The swaying is your accuracy and there's ways to upgrade it at workstation tables.

Then what they should have done is to show a tutorial after you died by failing to land a headshot
I dont know if we have the same problem but in my experiance it feels like the crosshair gets stuck on an enemy, like an aim assist kicks in and I cant aim properly. And yes I've turned off aim assist and turned the aim assist strenght down to 0
