Loved the 1st game, unsure if I should try the 2nd.

EDIT - thank you all for your input, I tried giving the game a shot, and even though I did enjoy the gameplay, I just found the story and characters really bland and boring, as much as I liked the gameplay it was simply not enough for me to keep me hooked, so I refunded the game.

to say it plainly - I saw quite a lot of cutscenes and stuff regarding the game's story (not like the whole game, but let's say third-ish of it?) and I really disliked well anything that concerned Abby.

I do however love the way the gameplay looks, fluid, fast, deadly. It's a joy to look at it really.

I loved the 1st game. Story, characters, gameplay - all of it. Finished it multiple times on ps4 and I haven't really been a fan of the 2nd title. But since it came out on pc and remastered and cheaper than on consoles I'm tempted a bit.

I am looking forward to playing as Ellie, but I at the same time am absolutely not looking forward as Abby.

Is the Abby hate justified? Or did I just got coerced into hating her by a hate train and she actually isn't that bad of a character at all? Should I give this game a shot?

abby hate is not justified plus the second game is alot better and you ARE missing out on a great game just because people make a fuss over joel getting his head smashed in by abby. get it you will not regret it

You're feeling what you should about Abby, that's by design. Don't ask people about it though, just throw yourself into it, enjoy the ride and see how you feel at the end of it. Most of the hate at Abby seems to be from people who haven't played it and have judged her without the full picture. Both games are awesome, but for me part 2 is top. I hope you enjoy it!

if you like the gameplay you should give it a shot. abby will grow on you. don't let this one scene taint the experience. she's got a slightly different playstyle. different setting to boot. voice actress is good aswell. if you wanna game in apocalypse, go get it. :)

If you like the first you're going to hate the second, and rightfully so, as it pretty much destroyed the series. The writing of P2, including the awful Abby, have all but guaranteed that there will never be anymore games in this series. It has also doomed S2 of the show unless they ignore it and write their own content. The irony will be that most adaptions are ruined by ignoring the source material, but the 1 time where that would have been wise to do, they probably won't do it.

Gotta love the bile some people spew. They say they're not interested in the game but choose to spend their time on it's forum. With every click they commit they generate more engagement for the game. Seems a waste of time.

Just play the game. It plays far better than the first. And if you don't mind Game of Thrones style shenanigans, the story will be fine too. Don't believe the haters and make up your own mind. I found the story just as riveting as the OG and have nearly 500hrs in TLOU2 on console.

In my opinion tlou 2 is way better than the 1, if you have loved the first game go straight on the second
