They got over it.

People who wanted to buy it, bought it. People who didn't want to buy it, didn't. And to be perfectly honest it's a technically, visually and gameplay-wise a really good game, it's story that blows.
You know how easy it is to fake steam reviews?

Even without that, since you can only review what you buy, no one bought this garbage.
The Gooners are a loud and organized minority, but a minority none the less.

Also, never trust reviews from any website that doesn't require owning the game to review it.

Metacritic/Opencritic user reviews are useless.

i really like the ellie part, the second half with abby doesnt exist to me, after ellie's half the game ends for me

A well written review has uses in figuring out if the game is even up your alley to begin with, but yes, don't trust them.

Don't trust anything, really. Faith is the death of intelligence.

The hilarious part to me is their concerns over digital daddy dying proves the story had impact. The whole thing built up on Joels past where he was (by his own admission) just as bad as the other non-infected people prior to the first games events. No one was inherently evil, they were just surviving in different ways. Story flips and now Ellie is doing exactly what abby spent years doing.

And the anti woke stance is laughable since the FIRST GAME established Ellie as gay already, and even Bill was gay in the game.
They literally can't claim the game "went woke" when the first game had it all there plain as day to see. Hell, if there was any question on it about bill.. Ellie held up Bill's mag of nude men and joked about it having sticky pages IN THE FIRST GAME!
Funny how they never noticed that or that the entire DLC expac was focused literally on Ellie and her first girlfriend.. PC only users can't argue they didn't have the DLC cause it never came to PC without it. If they decided to not play it or ignored its content... well.. thats their fault.

Every controversy it's got is bunk out the door if anyone actually played the first game.

its not easy? Theres thousands and thousands who review lmao. You cant control thousands. This is some weird logic lmao.
its 12k online only. majority of players just skipped the game release on steam
people already knew about this game, so those who jumped on the hate train wouldn't buy it in the first place.

Most reviews are also focused on the pc port which is running pretty well for most people as it seems
it got hate because a bunch of males got emotional after seeing a story being, not only about two women, but a LESBIAN and a strong woman, everyone designed as humans and not objects for male pleasure. so they had to make it everyone else's problem.

On PlayStation Store TLOU2 out of 200k VERIFIED reviews has a rating of 4.49/5 (81% with 5 stars, maximum rating). For a game INTENTIONALLY divisive this is an excellent result.

On Metacritic site people have created 1000 accounts each to lower the game's rating.

Today, this game is a generally recognized failure. Only fanatics of such garbage buy it and give it a positive rating.

I don't think any opinions changed at all.

The original version of the game released almost 5 years ago. Those who hate it wouldn't be buying this, because why would they? Everybody has a pretty good idea what to expect by now, so the haters stay clear of it.
