I don't use external software like OBS, I use the built-in recording and not only is there no sound but the screenshots are on the greenish side

Yeah, steam recording only works when you set it to "all system sound" in the settings of steam. BUT EVEN THEN it can bug out,. Lost so many good clips cause of this, the strangest part is, in game, in steam menu, the preview of the clips had sound.... Its sooo annoying lol

do you start recording manually? I have it on 'Record in Background' and had no problems with the sound.

No, I'm talking about recording the game. there's the option of recording the game as soon as you start it.

Settings > Game Recording > Record in Background

that's what I've been doing because I don't want to press the Record button every time I start a game. there were no sound problems for me.

also, choose All System Audio maybe that could help

i see,i always record in the background.
Try win + g to use windows recording tool. If you haven't disabled background apps you don't use. You really should do that. Then go into control panel an change your power settings.

If you never done over clocking. Furmark and msi afterburner are great tools.

Using loseless scaling may help cut cpu usage.

Also make sure if you use the steam recorder that the audio tab is clicked. (I think there's one. Tho I never used it personally ).
