I was getting this too even in places I already played through, so not shader comp stutter. I rebooted my PC and it seemed to resolve it.

yeah, try reinstalling your drivers with ddu, helped me with 1% lows, but i can't play the game cz i'm crashing all the time :)
Also getting this as well.
I'm getting this on my RX 7600. It's because of VRAM. Also, AMD GPUs use on average 1GB more for texture streaming than Nvidia. Lower texture quality to get rid of stuttering.

The game apparently does not do a full shader compilation. Also has some weird issues with VRR.

im playing on a 4080, lowered the texture quality and it did nothing. thanks for the advice though.
Turn off Frame Generation to stop the stuttering. It's broken right now.
DLSS 4 override via Nvidia App should be all you need.

I'm playing with a I9-11900k and 3090 (24gb) and 64gb ram and it's intermittently freezing up in No Return. I've tried switching resolution from 4k to 2k to 1920x1080... dedi full screen from I assume borderless fullscreen and no matter what it keeps freezing every once in awhile and very random. I'm playing No return only right now. Even in the hub for upgrading etc before next node it will freeze up sometimes in there too. Killing me.
Edit: the lock up will freeze for maybe 3-5 secs before it will start playing again, no crashing.

Yes, I am having a similar issue (on RTX 3060).
PC gaming is a fickle mistress.

Seems frame gen doesn't like shaders compiling in the background when loading up. Wait a few mins then turn it back on. On my 4070 i'm getting around 70-80 fps with dlss4 override 1440p ultra. With frame gen on too this increases to 90-110 so it is working.

Unfortunately, with a 14900k and 4090 I still get judder with FG on, even after waiting for background shader compilation. It's obvious this game needs a performance patch or two, but that's just par for the course these days.

That's a shame. I'm in one of the largest areas now and it's all very smooth. That initial 30 seconds I can see cpu usage increase to around 70% but then settles back to 35-40%. With a 7800x3d.

I'm sure there will be some patches to improve things further though.

Eh, not really a shame as I still hover in the 100-120 fps range using DLSS 4 override, so I'm good.

how do you force DLSS 4?

Use DLSS Override in Nvidia App, or use DLSS Swapper to swap in DLSS 4.
