DLSS 4 override via Nvidia App should be all you need.
Edit: the lock up will freeze for maybe 3-5 secs before it will start playing again, no crashing.
Seems frame gen doesn't like shaders compiling in the background when loading up. Wait a few mins then turn it back on. On my 4070 i'm getting around 70-80 fps with dlss4 override 1440p ultra. With frame gen on too this increases to 90-110 so it is working.
Unfortunately, with a 14900k and 4090 I still get judder with FG on, even after waiting for background shader compilation. It's obvious this game needs a performance patch or two, but that's just par for the course these days.
That's a shame. I'm in one of the largest areas now and it's all very smooth. That initial 30 seconds I can see cpu usage increase to around 70% but then settles back to 35-40%. With a 7800x3d.
I'm sure there will be some patches to improve things further though.
Eh, not really a shame as I still hover in the 100-120 fps range using DLSS 4 override, so I'm good.
Use DLSS Override in Nvidia App, or use DLSS Swapper to swap in DLSS 4.
