Keep crashing on high end PC
I'm getting smooth 150 fps on MAX settings, and 120 1% lows, but I can't play at all because of the crashes, tried installing 566 driver, keeps crashing, reverted back to 572.83, tried turning msi afterburner off, didn't help, tried -dx11 in launch options didn't help either, idk what to do at this point.

‘A problem has occurred with your display driver. This can be caused by out of date
drivers, using game settings higher than your GPU can handle, an overheating GPU, or
{an error with the game. Please try updating your graphics drivers, or lowering your
in-game settings. Current GPU and graphics driver: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER,
572.83

Ok, I was having the same issue with an RTX 4090, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and 32GB RAM, and I think I managed to fix it—at least it’s been working for me so far.

I only did three things, all of which I found in this thread. First, I disabled MSI Afterburner. Then, I also turned off NVIDIA Reflex. Lastly, I capped my FPS at 90 to try and reduce CPU usage.

Apparently, as mentioned here, the game reloads shaders during gameplay—it’s pretty obvious when it happens—and if your FPS is too high, the CPU might get overloaded at those moments. That’s just a theory. I don’t know if one of these changes specifically fixed the issue, but I did all three at once, and I haven’t had any crashes since.

I'm having the same issue I can't even play past the Capitol Hill encounter before the game crash's and causes a hard OS lock up resulting I a hard reset of the entire system. Crashed twice with the same. A problem has occurred with your display driver. Going to try and do an uninstall and look for to see if my GPU is overheating which I doubt it cause all my other games work and run properly with no issues.

90 fps limit and no upscaling with DLAA made it very smooth for me today on my 4080 super !
Joe 4 ABR a las 8:25 a. m.
Okay I put FPS limit to 80, turned off afterburner, reflex to on with boost and its seems fine. Just went past a shader compilation area and CPU spiked to 75 but went back down and is fine. Playing with DLSS on

Thanks guys (for now lol)
Civ0duL 4 ABR a las 8:31 a. m.
Trying to play with Afterburner off, FPS limited to 90, Reflex OFF and get kicked after 15 min lol
Joe 4 ABR a las 8:40 a. m.
well if it is what people are saying and that doing this will stop CPU spiking above feasible levels, try 80 or 70
Civ0duL 4 ABR a las 9:00 a. m.
Trying FPS cap at 70, antialliasing off DLSS off, crash again. Cant playing smoothly so i give up for now

I have a 4090 and getting this as well. It seems to get micro freezing quite a bit until I get the final popup, same as the OP's error. Makes it hard to want to keep playing with it, in this condition.
