Keep crashing on high end PC
I'm getting smooth 150 fps on MAX settings, and 120 1% lows, but I can't play at all because of the crashes, tried installing 566 driver, keeps crashing, reverted back to 572.83, tried turning msi afterburner off, didn't help, tried -dx11 in launch options didn't help either, idk what to do at this point.

‘A problem has occurred with your display driver. This can be caused by out of date
drivers, using game settings higher than your GPU can handle, an overheating GPU, or
{an error with the game. Please try updating your graphics drivers, or lowering your
in-game settings. Current GPU and graphics driver: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER,
572.83

The game does shader compilation during gameplay this time. In TLOU 1 they did it when you first boot up the game (or first boot after a graphics driver update). I'd much rather they do like that rather than during gameplay.
Shader compilation is exactly what I assumed and what I stated in my post. The OP here said that's not it lol. I think it is actually. Very odd is only happening on certain configurations though.

I've played for around 9 hours with MSI in the bottom left the entire time because I know how bad part 1 was. I've just went through the TV station. Had 1 crash after the very first shader compilation and the game takes a good minute or so to load up. Not entirely sure what's going on there. Just want to +1 on shader comp mid gameplay its 100% a thing. I can see exactly when it happens.

Forgot to say 4070TI, I never OC anything.

sigh... here we go again
oh, same error code that I got, got CTD in supermarket, using AMD GPU latest driver 25.3.2

It's the same error that happened with spider-man 2 ig, turning off REFLEX helped with it, didn't have any crashes ever since and stutters are mostly gone, will update if it happens again.
Guys, i managed to fix the crash by disabling ALL overlays (in my case was discord, steam, msi, and the nvidia overlay).I also disabled the hardware acceleration on discord but I don't think it's needed. Hope it helps
I have the same problem as the author of this discussion (I7 11700F, 32 GB, RTX 3080). The latest drivers. I don't understand how to fix it anymore. If there is a solution, please write
Ok I was able to resolve the issue I believe.

First the fix: I capped my fps to 60 and enabled DLSS Frame Generation. This locks my fps to 120. My CPU usage stays around ~20%, but during shader compilation it climbs to 60% now instead of nearly 100%.

The theory: I believe that allowing the FPS to go too high in this game causes You to max out your CPU capability during the compilation. They SHOULD allow us to simply compile these shaders at the start so we can run without these issues, but this seems to fix the issue for me for now.

This also makes sense that only higher end machines seem to have the issue. Most people are probably not reaching high enough FPS with their GPU that their CPU has overhead for the compilation. Alot of us also weren't using frame generation as performance wise we don't need it.

Could be a fix actually, recently nvidia and discord had some beef (like when you are screensharing A GAME you cant record your screen at all) they said that they are already on it but its been a while

You have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. Why are you downloading AMD gpu software?

You need the chipset drivers not the gpu drivers.
