This was a terrible game and it ruined the series...

First of all... ---SPOILERS AHEAD---

im going to spoil everything. If you haven't played 2 i HIGHLY suggest you just do not play it and pretend it doesn't exist because it is such a terrible game, you have been warned.

Starting off with the elephant in the room, Joels death is a big problem not just the fact he died i expected him to die i expected the fireflys to get revenge but not only the fact that hes dead its the fact that the entire game it tried to shove in your face that Joel is a bad man he did a bad thing by not letting Ellie die literally every chance they have they shove this wrong opinion in your face Joel is a terrible man hes a piece of poop he deserves what he got ect...

Quick recap of the first game:

Joel saves Ellie from the fireflys they are going to kill her to make the cure because she has a special growth in her brain. Ok first of all that would never work think about how long it takes to make medicine or a vaccine one growth in the brain of a girl isn't going to make so miracle cure, it would get them closer to a cure but there is NO WAY they could make a cure let alone mass produce one with the equipment they had, Ellie would of died for no reason. Also the fireflys are terrorists period. They are there is only bad evidence against them, there are rumors they are the good guys and trying to find a cure but all the stuff we saw and encountered in the first game says otherwise, they were going to kill Joel anyways and they were literally baiting him. Finally the BIGGEST problem is they made it canon that Joel killed all the fireflys in the hospital when it was player choice, the ONLY one Joel could of killed is Abbys dad who would not move if he had moved Joel could of spared him.

Ok back to part 2..

So they insist on making Joel a villain and a horrible person, they insist on making Abby and her friends heros but then shes just an unpleasant piece of work and everyone hates her so your supposed to like her they do everything they can into making you like her having her save that kid who was part of the scars or whatever they were called. Then we have this Owen guy too who is Abbys ex and is now dating some other chick and she has his baby but then Owen nails Abby and is all "uh hey you gonna come with us to wherever we are going so i can have two women" Like WTF? Is this a soap opera about cheating ♥♥♥♥♥ dudes, no this is The Last of Us one of the biggest story rich games ever made winner of who knows how many awards and they have all this un necessary crap im here that DOES NOT MATTER because Owen and his pregnant GF die anyways. Ellies relationship with Dina and the pregnancy made me cringe too, its just like why? Too add more drama and romance to this story, ok theres plenty of drama already with Ellie seeking her vengeance and trying to deal with what happened to Joel we really dont need all these relationships in the story this isn't a soap opera.

The whole game is just done poorly, if they insist on having this Abby character they should of made her the first MC and you meet her and her friends and their relationship found out they were fire flys and THEN find out they killed Joel, instead we geta revenge story that goes into some nonsense relationship drama story, then it goes BACK to a revenge story for the final parts of the game, then it ends as a forgiveness story. Which also makes NO sense why Ellie would forgive Abby, its a big deal that Ellie forgives Joel at the end of the game for what he did to the fire flys but then shes like "Oh nah its allright Abby you can go free i dont want to kill you anymore" Uhm... okay... after all that you just say "F___ it i dont care anymore." What a terrible ending.

This game has been dubbed misery simulator by the internet and other names too and it lives up to that title. Its nonstop depression from beginning to end pretty much, i especially find the very end of the game heartbreaking when Ellie goes back to her house and Dina up and left she took everything and just moved. Remember in the first game when Ellie said she was scared of ending up alone, well thats what happened.

This game tried WAY too hard to make a statement that "Revenge is bad" "Joel is bad" "Killing is bad" Or even possibly "Men are bad..." at alot of spots in this game it REALLY felt like this game was trying to tell me how men are bad, men are so evil, men are terrible they cheat on women, they steal and do other umm bad acts i cant type here, men are the worst. Gotta love that in my games... also goes out of its way to show us Ellie and Dina (i think thats her name its been awhile) are more than just friends, like literally every opportunity the game shows you they are not just friends. I think that 99.9% of the playerbase understood that within the first 10 minutes of the game no need to constantly remind us of this. And of course we have the "revenge is bad" statement, in THIS context revenge is not a bad thing.

In conclusion this game ruined the series, there can be no sequel and if there is a sequel the fans wont be interested. If they do anything with Abby no one will care, and if they do something with Ellie some people might play it i myself would probably just watch a playthrough. It saddens me to see that what could of been a great sequel was ruined by Naughty Dog and Neil Druckman trying to make a statement for pretty much the entire game. Things could of gone down differently, they could of done something with Tommy (joels brother) they could of had Abby instead of killing joel after he SAVED her maybe be injured and brought inside the camp then maybe eventually she tells Joel who she is or something pretty much anything would be better than this load of crap we got.

Welp thats all i have to say on this game. I suggest you avoid it, replay the first one, play the DLC and be happy.
