good luck streaming this through OBS :/
just like the first game, this crashes OBS when streaming the game through it after 15 or 20 minutes. doesn't happen with any other games. weird as hell.

I don't have this problem and I use OBS. I doubt it's an OBS issue. Maybe a codec issue. What codec are you using for video encoding? I use AV1

if i'm in the right place, i have the video encoding in streaming set to x264. but since you said AV1, i'm guessing that's in the recording settings. mine's set to use the streaming encoder. i'll try AV1 and see how that works out.

which should i use though? i see AOM and SVT.

AOM achieves slightly better image quality with less bitrate. SVT achieves slightly worse image quality than AOM at the same bitrate. The reason why SVT is even an option is because it uses less of the CPU for processing. Recordings barely affect CPU usage at reasonable bitrates, so just use AOM. You won't notice the difference between them anyway. It's such a small difference.

alright, noted. i'll try that out and hopefully i won't see any OBS crashes.

no issues with latest obs recording in 1440p with AV1 but game crashes a lot.. :steamfacepalm:

later edit: actually some weird stuff is happening - i checked my recordings and some of them have zero sound.. WTF.

AV1 didn't work, though OBS did stay open for quite some time still

i wonder if it's just how i'm streaming the game to discord? i just have it so that a windowed projector is open and i capture that window. this is just cuz i have an overlay with PNGtubers of all my friends that are in the discord call.

i could just screen share directly to discord but i like using the layout i have in OBS

Are you by any chance playing the game with a controller? Because Playstation games will use the speaker from inside the controller as default sound output, so you have to set which audio you want to record specifically in your recording settings.

Screen sharing directly on discord will hog on your VRAM and GPU, unless you have GPU video acceleration disabled. I'm personally not a fan of normal discord streaming because of this.

i see... i guess i might just be out of luck
I get a lot of crashes as well when streaming. 4090 24 GB, all max settings and about two crashes within 4 hours of play time. Everything up to date on my end drivers wise.
I've been streaming this game since I got it, and only had it crash once. OBS seems to be fine
I honestly misread this discussion, I thought they were referring to the game crashing, but they said OBS. Going to try playing without streaming for the same time and see if I run into any issues.

If you're running DLSS or Nvidia Reflex, turn them off..

Performance and stability actually improved after I disabled DLSS and set AA to TAA and turned off Reflex.

Oh I do have DLSS on since apparently it was active by default...I'll definitely give that a go, thanks!

no no, no controllers on my machine. i think i even disabled that crap in options.
Anyway - for the OP: try limit your fps in game and it should work flawlessly !
I am running at 90 fps with DLAA since 6 hours making several recordings without issues now !
