I wanted to test this, but the "Use legacy display ICC color management" option isn't available under the Compatibility tab. Am I doing something wrong?
Right-click on the .exe file, select Properties, and then the Compatibility tab.
I can set different Windows versions and a few other options, but the "Use legacy..." option isn't there. I'm still using Windows 10.
So you have to go to The Windows Registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Naughty Dog\The Last of Us Part II\Graphics - HDRMaxNits and set the working value yourself.
The working values I found (enter in decimal):
445708
603013
950373
Thank you for the reply, but unfortunately I don't know anything about the Windows registry. Before I do anything stupid, I'd rather leave it as it is. The game runs great for me, but unfortunately without HDR. I just wanted to test it out.
Its literally fake HDR which doesnt have color or luminance data to work with.
Thank you so much! I was expecting the same problem as in the Spider Man and Tsushima games with tuning brigthness point by point but there was no such option. Finally I can enjoy this game with working HDR <3
Would you please elaborate the algorithm used for these values?
is it:
MaxNit x 1000
?
so if my display has a max nit of 700 nits, would it be 700000? or is the value calculated differently?
2. In The Last of Us Part II there is NO DIFFERENCE between these 3 values I gave. All 3 of them simply unlock full unlimited HDR in this game. The important thing is that they work. As for the rest of the games from Nixxes, yes, these values adjust luminance in them.
3. Aren't you all tired of Nixxes releasing games with broken HDR all the time? And they got ALMOST ALL NEW SONY GAMES on PC by now! Is there anything we can do? They have a feedback option on their site.
Thank you for this fix. You are amazing for sharing this.
Try Stalker 2 in HDR to see a real over saturation in red (and crushed blacks).
