In terms of mechanics, animations and overall gameplay: TLOU2 is one of the best games I've ever played.
Atmosphere, however, is ruined by incompetent, non-logical characters and wokeness.

If you are able to ignore that and enjoy game for what it is - you'll have a great time.

Without 1, 2 wouldn't nearly be as fantastic as it was.

If 2 didn't exist and they killed off Joel he would be basically the equivalent of Sarah from 1, it's sad yes, but you forget her pretty fast since we had no time with her.

It's the fact we spent such a long time with Joel in 1, that killing him in 2 is as impactful as it was and sets the masterfully bleak & unrelenting tone the rest of the game is.
