why the hell is this game cheaper than Part I remastered?! I feel gipped

I paid $60 for Last of Us Part I remastered, if this game is a superior game, it makes no sense to price it at a lower price!

from a production standpoint part 1 as the full remake was alot of work. including the port of the engine to the pc. part 2 was already finished in 2020 and it's money has been made on the ps4, basicly. it is available on the playstation store for a permanent discounted §40. the remaster is basicly the same game rendered in higher resolution and with higher framerate. if you own it on the ps4 or would buy the original game for those $40 you can upgrade it for $10. if you get the remaster new you basicly get the same discount on the base game + the new content for $50. and they charge the same on pc. the engine was already ported for part 1. you just get the game and the new content. that simple. argueably they should raise it to 60 bucks to cover the losses due to steam royalties, but maybe sony has a deal going, that we don't know about. like shared data centers. hmm.

Part I was practically re-engineered with Naughty Dog's updated PS5 engine. The same engine as Part II. This explains why they had a higher expenditure for the redevelopment of Part I.
