Abby is a better person than Ellie
I despise Ellie. Ellie is a selfish person. All she cares about is herself and her image. She does nothing in the game that makes her look like a good person.

Abby, on the other hand, is a sweet caring person. She helps multiple people in the game. She even goes against her own people just to save another human being. Abby is the true hero of TLOU 2.

She cares about her image, yet she does nothing to make herself look like a good person? Wouldn't that mean she doesn't care about her image?

Regardless of who is a good or bad person, playing two perspectives with such contrasting character motivations is what made it interesting for me. Abby doing something positive to unburden herself from the guilt she feels after doing something terrible. Ellie doing similarly terrible things for vengeance, only to find herself further consumed by it.

I'm just glad it didn't swallow her whole.

Ellie is frustrating to watch with her revenge obsession and how she ruins every good thing she still has

Abby starts from the point after she already got her revenge so of course she's gonna be better

lmao how dare you condemning my beloved ellie babygirl
So nice to be Brainwashed, huh?
Though I like Abby too (minus the ridiculous hulk arms), she did try to steal Owen back from Mel tho...
All characters got lame in part 2. Dunno why they did that other than Neil being drunk?

I hope all the unhinged posts from the Last of Us sub make it to this Steam forum before release so we can see all the Druckmann Twitterisms trying to cope with stuff like Abby becoming good pals with Lev in 2 days or Tommy teleporting back to Jackson with a hole in his head or Ellie spontaneously deciding to stop killing or the egregious retconning of the "definitely viable" cure or the enemies going from mourning Kira/Jeff/Nathan/Todd/Shirley/Mel to just being gigantic Trunchbulls with hammers

Decent jester bait, it at least displays well the naughty Effect neilD and his accomplices from Naughty Dog have managed to cause by brainwashing their fanboys. :MESMERIZE: :INSIDE_boyhat:
i would not say better.both characters are really strong.

Well, I do agree. But I believe both are amazing characters in their own way.
Just like in part one. Neil asked Gustavo to: "go dark on Joel" (referring to his music)
As Joel is technically the bad guy in part one.
And the same thing happens with Ellie in part two: A traumatic event happens, an important figure in their lives died.
Just as Joel saves Ellie in the hospital, fuelled by his past trauma.
Ellie tries to get revenge for Joel, fuelled by her not-so-past trauma.
So, Ellie IS the bad in the story, but for multiple reasons which I consider viable for her actions.
And, even though this comment is about Ellie and Joel, Abby still has her trauma too.
