They filed a new trademark for Tales of Abyss, so there is hope.

While you are correct, updating trademarks to continue ownership of them is fairly normal, the context surrounding things means it has a good chance to be something more than that.

Bamco has openly stated they are putting time and effort into remastering older games, even having a dedicated dev line for it, and that more remasters are on the way after Graces f, as part of the series 30th Anniv (which itself is getting a multi-year project)...

All that plus the trademark update, means it's a fairly good chance that an Abyss Remaster is planned, or in the works already.

It's not 100% chance an Abyss Remaster, but I feel it is fairly reasonable to believe that an Abyss Remaster is on the way. Maybe... 80% chance? 90%?
