Grade shop...

I get the fact that its a older game an people have already beat the game but i don't agree with having it from the get go. They completely remove the fun of grade farming to make that second play through more fun with a insane xp boost or even the harder difficulty. i think if they happen to port xillia with this crap i wont buy. I love tales game because you have to work for all those extra goodies in your second playthrough

Then don't engage with it until you beat the game. It's pretty simple. No one is stopping you from your fun, don't try and stop other peoples' fun.

This is kind of like people complaining about mage builds in Elden Ring make the game too easy. It's something you can just simply forgo in favor of having a more challenging and personal experience.

so what you are saying is giving everyone the grade shop option thus taking away a potential second playthrough is good? some people still enjoy working for the grade to enjoy a second playthrou. i only bought the game since i have never played. Of course i suppose i could just refund an go to my ps3..

I'd like for it to be an option, have them ask if you want all that grade for your first playthrough, so you can say no and farm it if you want to. Options rarely hurt!

You could clearly just not choose any options in the grade shop and start a new game without anything chosen. Btw this game doesn't give you grade in battle but through watching skits and other stuff so if you thought grade farming was through battle and a fun thing to do in this game then you would be wrong as it isn't like other tales of games since they removed grade in battles, so no grade isn't something fun in this tales of game :(.

I will howeber give a tip, do not choose the titles option im grade shop. This unlocks all the titles in the game and it also masters them and bad part about this is your starts get crazy high at start of game from all the title boosts so you start at like 500 def and like 300 or more attack. One way around this is by raising difficulty in options to hard but enemy doesn't start scaling well until anout 2-4 hours into the adult arc. I fix this by starting a new game without these changes and then I do another new game + with the titles and other grade choices and I creat a save further into to the story eith the grade choices and create other saves before this without them so I get a game balance and don't have to sacrifice the fun of the game of using 3 Sophies and 1 Cheria for my party, and yes I can put up with not having this option for a few hours into the adult arc as you can use Sophie the whole time as your main by changing to first player in the menu and enemies don't get hard until much later into the game for when I need 3 Sophies to make it just a bit easier for me :).

Yeah this is what I am doing, I don't plan to touch it till I finish the game. I'm more annoyed they apparently start you with over 3000 grade you can spend at the start of your first game. Should start you at 0 and you can earn the points as you go thru the game to open stuff. I also plan to disable any dlc that isin't just a costume.

This game doesn't give grade in combat so to me this is very nice of them to do this.

If anything I wish they added grade to combat, that would have been a better method nut this is Scamco we talking about, we are crazy lucky they even gave us this much at all, they could have gave us a worse versiom port of tales of graces f but they didn't.

i really dont get the concept that people feel that something optional should be removed because it break "the fun". people who are like this i have to question who's "fun" are they talking about exactly cant be their own because they will just not use the option and if they are talking about other people's "fun" that just goes into the territory of telling people how they should play a game, not letting them chose how they want to play the game.

Honestly if you don't want to use the Grade shop, then don't, I don't intend to myself on a first in many years run.

Its as simple as "I enjoy farming grade" if you dont enjoy that answer then i dont know what else to tell you. The grade shop being open to everyone an with enough grade to buy everything is a QOL i would rather not see in a tales game.. it doesnt matter if you have beat the game or not. The grade made the tales game special an seeing that taken away an probably taken away from any first time tales player is bs

Then do that. No one is stopping you from playing it with no grade shop until you NG+.

It's not taken away though. How does having an option hurt you in any way?
