My game won't start on Windows 7 Ultimate (64Bit) (help needed)

Skyscraper simulator won't start on my computer, my specs

When I press play it shows up the steam GUI for a split second then nothing happens

AMD Radeon HD6670
16gb Ram
AMD Athlon(tm) X4 750K Quad Core Processor
3.40GHz
Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit)


If anyone has had this problem and has managed to solve it could you please reply.

In the Tray -> right click on the "Speakers" icon -> select playback devices -> In the playback tab select speakers -> press "Properties" button -> next window go to "advanced" tab -> in "default format" drop-down menu select 16-bit, 48000HZ -> apply/ok -> start the game.

This is why there always should be a 'trial' version or something.

My specs:

CPU: Inte I5 4670K @ 3.40GHz
Memory: 16gb Ram
Graphic: Geforce GTX 780
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

Maybe a bug in the launcher i tried from the exe itself, still doesnt work.

I don't have the game, but have you guys tried compatibility mode? (running it in XP mode)

now i h've tried the compatibility mode. i lauch it under xp sp3 and it works

I have Windows 7 64bit and it runs great first time.

AMD 8 core FX8350 4.2GHz
Nvidia GTX 670 in SLi
24GB RAM

I would suggest going to the game properties IN STEAM and verifying the game cache to make sure a file or two are not corrupt. It truly runs great in Windows 7 64.

Tried with the Compatibility mode and verified the game cache but still not working...

This is a common problem with games from AIG. They build in some ridiculous dependencies that you must satisfy to make the game work.

Everybody who is having a problem starting this game, please go to the game's directory and run all the necessary pre-reqs manually.

This directory contains the pre-reqs:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyscraper Simulator\_CommonRedist

There are two listed - DirectX and PhysX. Run them both. You might already have newer versions installed. Doesn't matter.

EDIT: Reboot then try your game.

Doesn't work for me on any of my three PC's. All running W7 Pro 64. One is an i7 with 16gb ram and an ati 6870, one is an i7 with 16gb ram and a geforce 760, one is a laptop with an i5, 6gb ram, and an intel HD4000 + geforce 640m

Where is the game failing? Be specific, please. If it fails while displaying a certain company logo, please provide the company name. That might give us a clue about where to kick.

It`s not launching at all for me either. Crash on just trying to start up. Tried compatibility mode, ran DIrect X and Physx instaklls manually from the game folders. Did a Cache integrity check, nothing.
