Windows 10
This game keeps freezing on windows 10 no matter what I do. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, running it in different compatibility modes, but nothing works! Please help. I used to really love this game and I want to replay it to get all the achievements.

Yes! That has happened to me as well! I have tried reinstalling it, running it in compatibility mode, and everything else I could think of!

I figured out how to work around the problem. Go to the options and turn off custom cursor, then turn on window. The combination keeps it from crashing for me.

Solution: Be patient, it starts after a while. 3-5min.

Dude, we're not talking about load times. I had it crash so hard the computer would not respond at all, and I had to restart my computer, *repeatedly*

Ironically I had to borrow a computer because mine's in for repairs. It's a somewhat older dual core that crashes games (though not so hard you need to restart the machine) if you've got too many tabs open, haven't restated recently, simply because it can... so naturally this thing hasn't crashed at all?? (for the record the rig it kept crashing was a dang gaming laptop)

Ironically, I am running it on Windows 11, just with specs that would be too minuscule to run a modern triple AAA game for like 5 seconds.

So possible solution: run on a machine that would have been passable in 2012? (up to date OS is probably fine though)
