Cant click anything

my friend got the game but when he gets to the menu(after already clicking what server to connect to) the buttons highlight when he mouses over them, but he cant click play or any other main menu buttons.

Is your friend using a laptop with a touchpad? Tapping the pad to click often doesn't register in games, or only kind of registers. I haven't tried my own touchpad in Pulsar yet, but in this situation your friend might need to actually use the physical button (some have the pad as a button and you press down onto it until it clicks, others have buttons separate from the pad). If that's the case, it's probably more practical to use an actual mouse (which gives better precision for first-person control anyway).
