Has anyone killed an infected ship?
No I seirously am starting to doubt that they are even meant to be killable right now. Dev deciscion no doubt. I get it.. we need limits but jesus ♥♥♥♥ing christ... My galactic % of infected has actually gone down from 8% to 7% but still are they even meant to be killable?

Killed 2 infected carriers in the infected sector. You have to use W.D. cruiser with best components from NPC ships, 2 burst turrets and upgraded main turret. It took me around 30-40 capsules to constantly recharge shields. Quite boring, if you ask me.

I've managed to kill 3 carriers at the same time (3v1). Much like Mine Turtle, I used a W.D. Cruiser, but with Focused Laser 10's instead of burst.

I have noticed a bug that sometimes increases the amount of infected systems when loading a save. You can tell if it happens because the starmap percentages change drastically from when you last saved. Only fix I've found is to disconnect and load the save again until it stablizes. BTW, what kind of ship components would work best against the Infected so I an gather stuff early on before it becomes an issue?

Grim Cutlass's main guns, and level 8+ of your other turrets. W.D. Cruisers do it best, but you could maybe manage it in a Roland or Destroyer

Ok 2 follow up questions.. Why is WD Cruiser best? Because of turret recharge bonus? Second did you notice if the system stays infected after you clear it out?

W.D. Is best because you do 35% more DPS. Carriers are hard because they regen. You need to out DPS their regen. The auto turrets other ships get are weak. W.D. Destroyer only has 1 turret other than main. W.D. Cruiser is by far the highest DPS ship.

Systems stay infected, yes.

We have found a couple of Infected Carriers in normal space. They seem to be easier to destroy than when they are in an ifected sector.

They're the same strenght, but when you're in an infected sector you take damage over time for just being in the sector, making the fight a lot tougher on your shields.

Also, different Carriers have different stats, they're not all identical. Maybe you just got lucky and ran into weak ones?
