[Problem] Science "Sensor Dish" not oriented to the ship
I don't know if this a bug or intended... but it's causing problems regardless.

When in a gun turret, if the ship rolls to the right, so does the turret (this is good).

But when I'm a Scientist and I'm Operating the Sensor Dish, the ship's orientation does nothing for my camera... and my camera is... I don't know, "Oriented to the Galactic Disk" or something... (This is bad!)

This makes it VERY HARD for me to communicate to my pilot what direction a thing is. I can't say "Starboard side" because I have zero concept of how the ship is rolling.

May we please have an option to change this? I really, really need to know how my ship is facing. There is no "up or down" in space, so the only real orientation I can use to talk to my crew is The Ship's relative orientation.

Anyone else have this issue?

you should be able to launch probes in the direction you want them to face.

also, the + icon is forward, while O is aft.

The probes is a nice work around, and thank you for the tip with the icons. However, I still feel in my gut that this is Still a problem.

It frankly "Feels wrong" having an "up" and "down" defined by the Sensor Dish. This is SPACE! (Spaaace, spaaaace) we are talking about. There shouldn't be an up or down.

I would much prefer if the Sensor Dish was "Apart of the ship" and would roll and turn and change as my pilot flew so I would feel more connected to what the crew is experiencing while playing the role of a Scientist.

I definitely feel this too. It makes it hard for science to give verbal directions, and probes are great, but don't work when cloaked. A third person view, a wire frame of the ship when in the sensor dish, or just keeping the sensor aligned with the axis of the ship would all be good fixes.

Alternatively, if the viewport consoles around the ship worked, that would also help side-step the issue even if it didn't fix it. Love this game, and the devs seem super responsive, hope this gets looked into!

The interesting bit is that, so far for me, the ships have all their weapons on one facing (except the auto turrets which are, frankly, worthless). So you end up thinking up being where the guns are and down where they are not. So the standard dance of death with deathseekers and shock drones and whatnot, instead of vortexing a horizontal it's a vertical. So there is a disconnect with the science camera and the relation to the ship facing.
