processing scrap is buggy
sometimes u will not get the prompt to process scrap. ive tried to see if bots could process them, but for some reason, despite this game having such a vast AI system, it doesnt include the ability for bots to process scrap. or perhaps i missed something

nevermind, i found out that after u load into a save file, u wont be able to process any scrap, even if u still had processing chances remaining before u saved and quit. not sure if this is intentional or some oversight, but thats how it is

Whenever you load a file, or you join a game you can neither process scrap nor sell biscuits. This is to prevent an exploit where you could constantly save your game and reload it, or leave and rejoin a game and continue processing all scrap/reselling biscuits without having to jump and thus advance chaos.

but wouldnt it make more sense to SAVE your process attempts? it really makes no sense why the game is like this. i cant imagine that its very difficult, although im not a dev. i noticed that this game is REALLY ♥♥♥♥ when it comes to saves. apart from the obvious scrap mechanics, there is also the ship mechanics. i remember when i unclaimed an enemy ship, and thus made it neutral. i saved and quit. later, i came back to that save only to realize that the ship i already boarded, cleared, and captured their screens so that i can unclaim it, is now fully operational with a full crew. how is implementing a normal save mechanin into a game that hard? like i said, im no dev, but other games never had such issues. whenever i save a game in other games, including indie games, the game is saved in its current state, meaning nothing is changed whenever i load it back up.
oh and another thing i forgot to mention. me and my friends claimed another ship, leaving our old one behind. but saved there. the next day, we load it back up. we decide to board our old ship to say goodbye before blowing it up. so we board our old ship from our new one, and we temporarily claim the old one. GUESS WHAT, this "old ship" is now a completely different ship. its still the same ship model, except now it has lvl6 components, and completely new parts. i dont understand this games save mechanics
sry if im making no sense whatsoever, i am a bit "under the influence" at the current moment

It is like this to prevent people to just leave and rejoin your game constantly in order to circumvent the scrap processing fail penalty. This is not an issue, this is a cheat prevention.

If you leave a ship behind (no matter which) it will be considered as if the original ship in the sector survived. And jumping away and coming back (or reloading the game) will replenish it. This way you can fight the grim cutlass in a grim cutlass :D

but like i said, that makes no sense. if i have 2 failed attempts, and save the game and reload, i should still have 2 failed attempts. its that simple. unless im not seeing something?

I guess it is not that easily done, with crew members hopping on and off and bots being loaded in and out?
