how to target an ship
i play with bots ,how can i mark an target manually so they concentrate on him,i tried mark ship in science terminal but it does nothing, they still shoot what they want.
Ive readed somewhere so captain have an option to tag ship but cant see it nowhere,i unchecked autotarget but it changed nothing still cant mark ship for attack.
Another thing when i want attack first its also impossible until i shoot by myself ,i order red alert and they wait until my ship is shot at ...any idea how to fix it?

You need about about 25 sensor points to complete a lock, use your right mouse button, M1. The best way is to initiate a lock on every single drone so your bots will engage them. Your bots will always target the closest target, recommend taking the helm to adjust position so you can get a little focused fire as well as preventing your pilot from taking on all drones at once. Do not forget to use z axis to create a little distance, up and down, to gain distance from other drones.

mhmh got it Thx ,though it kinda stupid captain should be able to mark target for attack if all target are in range ,being unable to its kinda pain in some situations .

I noticed that as well, meaning, bot needs to attack first. I will let you know what I find, plan on investigating the bot settings, could be a priority thing.

Heyho gerald,
The solution is simple: Press spacebar OR alt key and keep it pressed. That frees your mouse pointer. Click on the enemy name in the TOP RIGHT corner of your normal game screen, where you see the names and shield and hull bars of the enemies. This way you manually target them.
You can manually untarget the current target by clicking on YOUR SHIP name up there.
Unchecking auto-target is recommended, but you can always turn it on again in battle when you don't care in which order enemies are attacked.
The science dish lock-on is just for increasing scan power on that enemy so you can more easily pester them with the science things.
I recommend you both play the tutorial, all those things are explained there.

I stop playing for a while and could not remember what I did last year to target ships from the Captains chair. Obvious is correct about targeting but I still recommend taking up the helm if you want to keep your guns on a target, bot pilot has limitations and no strategy.

Thanks for the explanation on how this works. It was driving me up a wall trying to get our unmanned guns to shoot the right ships, The Pulsar website shows the old method where it is in the Tab-Menu.

Anyone know if there's a way to manually set a target when playing in VR?
