Ok, i have a few questions about handheld weapons.
So I've been playing Pulsar a lot recently with one of my friends, it's been really fun but i have a slight problem, I've had the Splitshot +5 for a long time and I'm getting a bit bored of this gun, not only that but I'm not a huge fan of it really, the overheating is a bit annoying. So I've been looking for a new gun, but I'm not quite sure what to go for here? The Pulsar Wiki was basically useless, i don't think it's been updated in a vary long time, it only has like 4 or 5 different weapons, so i wanted to ask a few thing's, firstly does anyone have a list of all the guns in the game and if so could you send me said list? Secondly what's the consensus on handheld weapons? Is the Splitshot the best gun in the game, and if not then what is? What do you guys think are the best guns? Lastly are there any special guns in the game?

1. I recommend having more than one gun anyway. So you can cycle between them when one is overheated. I normally have three: Splitshot, heavy beam, phase.
2. There is a weaponspecialist talent that can be researched that makes guns cool down faster.
3. The splitshot is nice for close range combat like boarding and imho the best weapon there. It is annoying on planets though since there the range is usually bigger. I recommend using Heavy Beam Pistols for those places. Additionally you should keep a non-ammo gun with you (phase pistol or smuggler's pistol or beamrifle) to shoot at less tanky targets or when you run out of ammo or when your heavy beam pistol is cooling down.
4. there are special weapons that are difficult to come by: grenade launchers. additionally there are special weapons that you can only obtain in missions: beam rifle and WD experimental guns.

The wiki btw does contain pages for the weapons and you can see most of them when you click on the category. but i agree there should be a "handheld weapon" page that lists all and compares. will try to throw one together.

Ah i see, thank you. That was definitely my bad, i didn't realise "firearms" was it's own subtag in the wiki, but now i have a new question, how good are the experimental guns and how exactly do you get them? Are they worth obtaining? The wiki has them listed as ammo based weapons but it doesn't say anything else about them, so I'm a bit curious.

well, the articles for the guns existed in the category "weapon". I threw together the firearms page to list&link them all for you. So the firearms page was not there when you looked first. It seemed this name encompassed all the differend handheld weapons.
The experimental guns are only obtainable during the WD Corp main questline, that means if you start as WD and don't botch the mission before this one.
You can get the Spiker (i will not do all the .'s between letters here) which creates a field of ice needles on the floor. Enemies standing on it take damage. Is more gimmick then effective.
The impact is basically a gun that pushes enemies back while dealing just a bit damage. It works best in combination with the spiker to keep enemies on the ice needles. But again: more gimmick.
The WD Heavy is a very nice and powerful sniper rifle though. Be warned: all those experimental weapons degrade over time, that means they lose levels. You can prevent that by storing them in lockers during jump. Else you will have to keep on re-upgrading them after every 6th warp or so.

Always happy to help, m'lady. *tips fedora*
I will try to set up wiki pages for the new guns today. Hope that helps you with your choice.
