In the case of my crew the Carrier is pretty well suited for delivery quests and bounty hunting, the large cargo capacity paired with a decent fuel storage means we're able to hop around a bit and scrap some ships before returning to stations to sell, refuel, and repair.
The best way to find your "best ship" is definitely to spend some time in the stations of the various ships and figure out which one suits your play style. If you're not privy to the stats of one but prefer the layout just remember you can always swap parts until the form suits the function you need.
I’m pretty sure the carrier is what I’m looking for, I hate running out of cargo space and I also hate (dark and crammed) ships.
I forgot I could swap parts :P ( I main science officer) and me and my “crew” are all fairly new to the game and are still learning so any help or tips are much appreciated :) .
1) Cruiser is best for combat(35% turret DPS).
2) Carrier is best for farming(15% extra loot).
3) Science ship is best for fast start(get research materials for free).
As for the two older WD ships - the damage bonuses are nice, but they do not make up for lack of the huge QoL and inconveniences (8 cargo slots? Really?)...
