Massive spoilers, only read if you finished the game.
I'm assuming the redemption is actually to see if she deserves a second chance since she tried committing suicide like it's shown at the end when she finds her dead mother in the tub.
I'm assuming at the beginning of the game her mother was drowning Ethan and she was the next one, hence why she was getting grabbed while her mother said "Don't worry it's fine" or something along those lines.
But her dad saved her, the demons he mentions being the burden he put on his wife and family since he neglected them. He ends up dying and she ends up in a vegetative state while fighting somehow. Claire witnessing this gets amnesia to forget the trauma.
Then she feels responsible for all this since she kept taking the free time her father had instead of him using it on his wife. And it all escalated to what I said above.
PS: Just how I perceived the story, could be or could not be true.
But what puzzles me the most is that on the AAA ending, someone leaves flowers for you, someone that woke up from his coma and would be happy to hear you're awake. No clue who that could be, I mean, I doubt it's any of the redeemed but I'm assuming it's the kid. Or maybe Ethan somehow.
There's no demons when she's a child. If you're referring to the very beginning where someone pulls her in her parents room, I actually theorized something about that. (Her mother pulling her to murder her).
Also I think it's more like her soul is lost between life and death, when she meets her dad in the otherworld (At the very end of the school) she's about to die but is brought back by the doctors, so she can continue trying to wake from her coma during the apartments.
I think during the coma, the people she saves proves to her she's a good person and not a burden and she should cling on life and not give up, otherwise, I'm assuming she just gives up and dies.
Another thing I just thought of: Maybe the demons are actually her negative emotions towards herself and they end up eating her up slowly until she gives up on life.
She's in hospital because she tried to suicide because her mother killed Ethan, her mother also died. So, since she almost dedicated all her life taking care of her mother, she lost all meaning for her life she found pathetic.
Yeah :P There's probably a lot of things I'm wrong about, like I said they were just assumptions.
Not really a right or wrong. Everyone sees it differently. Especially with a story like this.
Well I finished the game 5 times now and this is just what I'm assuming the story is about.
Isn't there 14 notes in total? The 14th one name is Claire, so I leave flowers for myself? Dear god.
@Mental Paradox I don't think it has as much to do with Christianity as it is about Claire feeling whether she deserves to live or not. Whether she's done good or bad. She's a bit of a troublemaker. The endings have different outcomes to this question. In the F ending her soul is simply destroyed because she completely ignores the plight of others, will not reconcile with her father, and ignores her only friend, Anubis. In another ending she "moves on" and so forth.
