How to Turn off Christmas Stuff? first time playing
I bought the game a few hours ago, just played it and there are Christmas decorations everywhere, which spoils the atmosphere of the game. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and I would like to play a game on it

(I read that you can change the date on the computer but I would prefer to avoid it, is there another way available?)

Its not just those, its players elf hat + all the presents on every single level too, pretty sure i missed a lot of player/mita info cartridges due to it. But yeah.. its extremely dumb to refund over something very simple to fix

I don't think refunding it is dumb. I did the same thing. I bought the game because I wanted something new to play, but then I realized it wasn't in good enough condition for a first playthrough. So, I refunded it and used that money to buy another game from my wishlist. This game isn't going anywhere—I can always buy it again later.

Best thing you can do is quickly change the date to outside Christmas, maybe 05 December 2024, launch the game, and once the game has launched, simply alt-tab and restore the date.

You don't need to keep the date changed once the game has launched.

I don't think 15$ is going to get you very far on buying much, but then again, im not the type to refund over extremely petty fixable reasonings :) even moreso when it comes to indie game types, i want to see them take over and replace half the ultra garbage triple A games. But yeah thats just my opinion, not like I can force anyone to do what I want, you do you

Theres no removing back and forth.. its a time based event on your LOCAL system time, aka set the date to February or something, start the game, then have your clock go back to auto, it works

Everyone makes their own decision on this matter. The point is that refunding for this reason doesn't seem like a dumb decision to me as you say. I prefer to wait for an official solution before getting my hands dirty and trying to solve something that I don't even know if it could end in a bug that ruins my experience when playing it. The world isn't going to end just because I didn't want to wait a few days, I already had another indie game in mind and the truth is that I'm happy with my decision. I don't take my expectations off this game and for the same reason I prefer to postpone it until the developers fine-tune aspects like this.
We have reached the point where the Christmas Event is over and we can finally play the game clean
So I think the discussions can be ended. I hope that the developers will add an option to turn it off for new players in the future. Thanks for the help people! :Hiii:
