Other games like this but without the psychological horror?
I don't like horror in my games or any other kind of media I consume, but I gave this one a try because the artstyle looked too good to pass up on and I had a good gut feeling about it. I was right, this game rocks.

The scary parts were still something I didn't enjoy so much as I had to bear to get to the parts I did enjoy. I wouldn't change a thing about this game, it is great as it is, but is there something else like it that doesn't involve horror? If you know anything, please comment below!

If possible, I'd like to hear recommendations that are similar to this game not just in artstyle and tone, but also in quality/polish/budget whatever you want to call it. I'm sure there's a million 2D games out there that are like the non-horror parts of MiSide but I particularly want ones that are, like, 3D and first person.

The moment when I looked at Mita for like 15 seconds straight and she blushed changed my brain chemistry forever. I'll be chasing that rush for the rest of my life. I just don't think I can get that in a 2D game because of the lack of interactivity. If you think otherwise though you can namedrop a great 2D game though.

Surprisingly, there aren't that many slice of life 3d games. I think it's because games without a goal is boring to play, so most of them has to have something that makes it more interesting; be it horror, rpg, base builder, or R18 content.

Alas Anime City could become good too.
Its by a rusian dev too. Its in early accsses through and far from being finished.

Well, one big difference I can see right away, just from the screenshots, is that the artstyle is in this game is very different from MiSide. Anime City looks more like someone took the open world of GTA or DayZ or something like that and added anime girls, making it look off.

There's no uncanny valley feeling in the non-horror parts of MiSide because Mita is an anime girl dropped in an anime world, not an anime girl dropped in Rust. The disconnect is a deal-breaker, I think. I'd rather have the anime style through and through.

I looked it up and found that I already hit the "ignored" button on the steam page, partly because of mostly negative reviews calling it a scam and partly because the artstyle looked too uncanny.

Ok, so, the world definitely looks more Japanese than GTA or any of the other games I mentioned because it has lots of Japanese decorations, but it doesn't look much more anime than any of the games I mentioned. The anime aesthetic is lacking. One of the screenshots has a bunch of rocks and pebbles in it and it looks like I could literally go outside and take a picture that looks just like it. Too realistic, not cartoony enough.
