Modding the Game for Unique Outfits; A Guide!
Overview:

Here are some discoveries that I have found while messing with mods if you want to give it a shot, it seems the game was easily built for modding. These are more clothes recolors than outright character swapping, etc.

Files:

If you go to browse the game's files you can actually find all the files you will need for this, you need to go to:
Steam\steamapps\common\MiSide\Data\Custom\New (Sample)
In here you shall find all the files from the icon in the clothes menu to the clothes themselves which all together look like this (this all uploaded to discord for this picture):

Make sure to make a new folder in Steam\steamapps\common\MiSide\Data\Custom and title it whatever you'd like, copying and pasting all files into previously mentioned New Folder, we want to make sure we do NOT overwrite the original files/assets otherwise it will not cause the who clothes menu to not appear correctly in game like this:

To fix this you would more than likely have to uninstall/reinstall your game.
next its time for the....

Art:

Now, do you have a art program? Great, use it.
Don’t? Theres some ideas. If you want a simple color/tint change. Use Paint 3D, its on most Microsoft PCs. If you’d want to use a free but more advanced software download Kitra. Its the art program I use even though Im terrible at fully using it to its potential.
Anyway-
Edit them to your hearts content, edit the clothes and icon to you liking.
Im not a great artist, so try to have fun with this, try to make some meme ones.
DO NOT RENAME THE FILES, LEAVE THEM AS BODY, CLOTH, ETC.
I have not personally experimented with it but all the original files are PNGs so export them as a PNG if possible to possibly prevent any other problems.
So after that its the next part!

Finishing:

Now, paste all of the PNG textures into your game's files! Your files won't be labeled like mine but you can edit YOUR own created folder's names!

Now launch the game from Steam! If everything was done correctly you should be able to go to the clothes menu and select which one you want!

If you have done everything correctly your Screen should resemble something like this, icons may be in a different order based on your file's name for the clothes you created!

What you would probably need to do is decompile the game. Which there's a few other tutorials for on steam under the guides section

You can use photopea [dot] com, it's like Photoshop but on the web and free. Otherwise there's the open source GIMP software

For art programs I use.
If you want something truly easy. Use Paint 3D. Its on most if not all Microsoft PCs. And if you’d like something more advanced. Use Kitra.

I already know some of you are gonna make the character model pantieless.

This is something I worry too. But if you "erase" the panties texture. I'm gonna assume it's just plain white. Cause if MiSide doesn't load a texture. It's just a white model.

the options seem rather limited.
except for color swapping there wont be much use for it.
alphas also dont work.
if you want custom models you need to customize the fbx file, which seems to be inaccessible via the custom folder.

Yes. Modding for this is very, very early in stages to my knowledge. But Im sure if you dig around the steam guides you could go find the guide to access all the other files, etc.
Yo, any clue how to change the player's textures..?

Its really easy, left click on the steam game launcher then click on browse local files, from there you go on data then custom.
