They could make it a whole new game but that is basically the same, like Pokemon has 2 version. "Wa" means bad iirc, so they could call the male version "Wamita" and that version of the game could be called "Wiside", just flipping the M upside down to get a W, like the change from female to male on a form that abbreviates it as a single letter.

arent there enough gay visual novels? i think the devs dont care to make a gay visual novel and goes against the whole essence of the game since youd have to rethink most interactions and jokes to fit the gay culture. At that point just make a separate game entirely because thats basically it. This is a game with cute girls, for dudes that like girls. Making a gay version is not as simple as just switching the sexes around, you need to rewrite the whole story.

That’s a great idea. I was thinking it might have been possible to just switch the avatars around and that would have been all good. I remember Doki Doki Litterature Club had a mod like that at some point, but i haven’t tried it so idk how it is.

Well, there is a cute girl on the cover ofc the playerbase is male but i mean it could be a neat opinion right? :)
Also since there is so many different versions of Mita why not male too.

Again this post is not deep that deep, after I’m done with all the endings I’ll move to the next game but trust me this could invite more female players :’)

Never enough gay VN or otome games imo hehe.

I actually don’t think the interactions between Mita and MC is very gender oriented. I can’t really think of much jokes or interactions that would only fit a male MC and female Mita.
MC feels like mostly like a self-insert character so just flipping the avatars around is all good.
I would definitely still gobble it up if I can just see a male Mita Avatar that basically act the same way as female Mita.

Also when it is possible inclusivity is good, since there is so many female VN fans hiding in the wild.

The funny part is that people tend to complain about "objectification" but that's one of the points that the game is making, and having more diverse options for both Mita and the player avatars would actually lean into that narrative (that the game is making) even harder.
