Putting a generative AI in the Mitas
Just like what's happening in Skyrim, putting generative AI in the Mitas would allow them to interact with the player with more freedom and creativity. It would be really interesting to talk to them via microphone and ask unscripted questions.

this would be totally great for peaceful mode

That would be a real peak but I don't think they will implement it. There was a conversation in discord in general-ru with umeerai(developer)about this. He said that MakenCat should be asked about it and that MakenCat hadn't thought about it at all

That's not freedom. That's... like throwing every paint, marble, and toy car you own across the living room, dumping them all out of totes all at once, and calling that freedom.
You have no control and the result is a nonsensical mess!

Unless the devs are going to spend 3 years roleplaying as the characters and another 1 year training a brand new LLM generative A.I. model on ONLY the roleplays - I don't see this going well. ...and even then... I dunno... these models very often get confused easily and hallucinate or mix things up.

It would, but in my opinion, the generative AI technology is still too far away from being that good / from being at that level, to do that well. Plus this idea then adds accurate voice recognition on top of that. Google voice is the best model for this so far but have you tried it? ...even it screws up a lot.

Yeah and he needs to think about it very carefully and actually do research for it to even stand a chance at going well.

Look, I want them to do this, but I just don't think the tech is there yet to do it well.
Probably devs need some kind of licence for it which costs a lot of money, so it's not likely to happen.

I guess so, or they have to train the model themselves, which is a hell of a lot of work.

Pretty sure plenty of models are freely available and not copyrightable, but if you don't train a model yourself (and train it correctly) then it will do all sorts of things that you probably don't want it doing.

Do we really want a Let's Play where the player asks Mita how to build weapons or end their own life and then Mita gives accurate instructions on how to do so, with an added word of encouragement for good measure?
generative AI would only harm the game not add to it, it would ruin the narrative and destroy the game entirely by leaning into AI

I think AI is cool, and I think it would be cool to have around, but again its a novelty, I think putting a LM in the game would only be interesting for a couple minutes, and only a small majority of players would actually be interested in it

I don't think its worth the dev pouring money into, I'd rather see them put money into updating the game and adding features then putting all those resources into something that would be interesting for about 5 minutes
As someone who spent months talking to chat bots including locally hosted and uncensored, they grow stale very very fast. Unless you can afford a 20k USD PC to run the 120b models, or you got the patience and tech skills to get cheaper vram AI video cards working so you can run a 60b model (at minimum) the only thing you'll get is repetitive garbage after the novelty wears off.
