This is actually likely. Most devs prefer to interact with the community in their own space that they own and control, not somewhere hosted by a third party.
If you get vocal and belligerent about wanting porn and not liking Russians in their space, they will just throw you out. If you do that here, there is this added complexity that someone can go whinge to Steam about the devs not being fair.
Makes total sense if they just don't want to mess with that. When my own game releases, I will start out trying to engage with Steam, but if the community is annoying I will just go back to my Discord.
