No controller support in 2024.
Why?

This went from a "buy this weekend" to a, "put on my 500+ game wishlist indefinitely" game.
Never heard of this game before until seeing on my front page on Steam.

No offense, but can someone explain why people play computer games with a controller? Does it make movement smoother? In FPS games, wouldn’t it be harder to aim?

Curious what controller you are using? This game def could use a option to set what controls go where on controller. (My controller worked fine, but X and O were both E on keyboard, but can just use steam controller overlay to fix some stuff up.) I am using Dualsense btw.

I grew up on consoles, only started seriously pc gaming when I got a big boy computer in '20. I never learned how to do KBM and only played super low intensity/apm games like rpgs when I did play on computers here and there. It's half muscle memory and admittedly half being a stubborn old fart.
Even a relatively simple game like this does hurt my hands trying to learn wasd and the mouse camera.

Because they are deranged

Devs couldn't add gamepad support in time, but they promised to add it later.

Steam offers controller support for any game.

And not everyone use a QWERTY layout...
If you go to controller setting via Steam Big Picture there will be MiSide community layout, which is great... until you reach Monster-slap (mini-game in second part of the MiSide). I don't think going through this part of the game is possible with MiSide community layout - aiming in time is either impossible or borderline impossible. I had to use touchpad in this part of the game and it's wasn't fun either. (Playing on GPD Win Mini.)

This game is designed to be played with the controller in front of the TV. But, unfortunately, you can't use the controller in it.

Эта игра предназначена для игры с контроллером перед телевизором . Но, к сожалению, вы не можете использовать контроллер в ней .

Easily explained:

I own many gaming-grade computers.

Among them, most are in my office and when I play on them, I use a keyboard and a mouse.
However a couple of them are in my home-cinema equipped living room.
When I play on them I want to comfortably sit and use an good game-pad.

This game would be perfect for the living room.

I also own a "Couchmaster". It works but it's too much hassle to even plug so don't want to use it.

In summary, having game-pad options allows different play styles.

Because I'm a software dev who uses mouse and keyboard 8 hours a day.

When it's gaming time, I do so from the confort of my couch (PC is connected to TV) using my Xbox controller. Playing with mouse and keyboard reminds me of work and I get bored quickly.

Comfort*

Imagine using a controller for your work and not a M&K... If I'm gonna game with a controller+tv, it will be on my PS4/Xbox Series X
