Having trouble with "don't look inside the oven"

Trying to get the alternative path during the beginning but that one last check is giving me trouble is it a glitch or something because I made sure to avoid looking at the oven

You should not open the oven in "mobile game" at the start of the game. The moment you help Mita find a comb.

The thing is I never did check the oven but I guess loading a checkpoint messes it up

One thing I did (by mistake) was when I hit the left arrow icon to scroll the room, I accidentally clicked the oven as it right above the icon. I remembered that because I saw the puff of smoke you get when you click the wrong thing. You can check progress if you pause the game, there will be a checklist in the bottom right so if after that mini-game there's still a cross next to the oven, you'll know you've failed. Also it's advisable to play through without quitting and returning later as it may forget previous chapter requirements.

You have to start the game from the beginning, not load a checkpoint/chapter for it to count towards the checklist

i started over from the beginning and it still said i didn't pick up the letters and i looked in the oven so idk I keep having to go down the refuse path cause nothing else works

you pick up the letters when u get the battery out of the fridge (check the floor)
just do a "new game"
dont click on the oven
pick up the battery from the fridge -> pick up letters
eat the souce
play the console games with her
play cards
at the closed u will be able to stay ;)

Yeah thing is i made sure i picked up the letters during the battery hunt and i also made sure i didn't look in the oven prior but the checklist had those 2 thinks x'd out. I did close the game and loaded a checkpoint after those events tho. Thinking maybe the game didn't properly load my checklist from doing that. Only thing i can think of

im also having same trouble. I think I might have to delete my save files from my pc entirely and start from scratch...

if anyone is still having trouble, the arrow keys also work for switching the screen to the next room, that's what allowed me to deal with the refrain from looking in the oven
