After all, it'll kind of suck if you do everything you can to immerse yourself in the world, and Mita just ends up going Yandere on you anyways. Would feel railroady.
If you try and actually figure out what's going on, the game's story gets darker and more brutal. But if you decide to just kind of surrender to it and to her... then things stay sweet and soft, even if with an underlying sense of unease... like slowly being brainwashed. She brought you there for a reason, and if you don't resist her then she'll have all the time in the world to draw you in and never let you go. Resisting and trying to figure out what's going on should lead down one path, and just accepting and surrendering should lead down a completely different path.
Not sure what the developers have in mind, but would definitely prefer it if there is multiple ways to play and not every playthrough ends up in horror and blood and gore. I don't mind there being that path, I just don't want to get railroaded down it.
As for outright sex, well this is the kind of game where it would fit right in so I don't see why it couldn't, but I wouldn't want it to be the focus either.
Brother, you put my thoughts into words.
