Instructions for Fate Core
Ruleset Features
Character Sheet
High Concept, Trouble and Other Aspects: The aspects on the sheet can be doubleclicked to invoke (as a player) or to compel (as a GM or GM controlled character).
Skills: The list of skills is controlled in the data_common.lua file in the scripts folder. The list of skills is loaded in to the character and will retain the list. By default, the list is ordered by the skill level, then by label. You can doubleclick the skill rating to roll the skill, or drag to the modifier box and roll the dice manually.
I will be adding an option to toggle between this sort order and label only, so the list can be
viewed either as a pyramid list or as a skill list. Until then, the sort order is fixed to the Pyramid view, sorting first on skill total, then alphabetically on skill name.
Stress Tracks: The stress tracks allow for up to 9 track items. For Fate Core, and other Evil Hat Fate games, the track items act individually. For some other Fate games (e.g. Starblazer, Legends of Anglerre, Age of Arthur), the stress track items act like an ammo counter.
Stunts / Weapons / Armour: The list items for stunts, weapons and armour accept a dropped die or number. This is so that the following can be recorded:
* Stunts / Powers that cost more than 1 refresh to buy
* Weapon damage ratings (where they are used)
* Armour absorption ratings (where they are used)
Additional gear can be recorded in the Gear text area.
Notepad: The notepad is for holding player notes to do with their character. Currently, it only accepts dropped notes or library (reference text) items. I plan on adding Items to the drop list as well.
This is for recording special items, that may have their own aspects. It can also be used for
holding a “mini sheet” for the character in the form of a public note. This can be useful to allow the other players to know your character’s aspects (or at least the ones you wish to share).
Other players can then use your aspects when building maneuvers for you to use in combat.

Modules
Modules need to go in to the modules folder of the Fantasy Grounds application folder. These are library modules, giving basic information on the game. The text is licensed under the CCBY creative commons or the Open Game License. License text included in the module.
This is basic information only, for character creation. The relevant rulebook will still be required to play the game. This should not be seen as a method to avoid purchasing the game. Please support the game developers, or you won’t have a hobby to enjoy.
