Fantasy Grounds Classic

Workshop?
I'm seriously considering getting this game, because I've designed four different tabletops, and still run games, but I would like to see it emplemented into the steam workshop so it would be easier to share games/builds, even if it's just with my other Group buddies. Without buying individual copies and manually copying everything over, every single update, is there a good sharing feature built in? If not, how many people would we need to get this greenlit for workshop?

The workshop is in development and testing right now. It should be available shortly (a week or two at most I think).

I wasn't expecting a developer response. Thank you, thank you very much. You have just sold another copy.

By the way you don't need a workshop to share games. The players download everything needed as an encrypted campaign file on connection to the GMs computer. The workshop would be, I presume, somewhere for GMs to download additional setups for differentroleplay systems. You will need individual copies though. GM and players need separate licenses unless the GM has an ultimate license.

Beside what the program offers and the community offers, this is also a very big plus for using FG ;).

When it gets workshop support I won't be able to avoid purchasing it. Instabuy.

Chiatroll, its not really a "game stopper" in my oppionion... I mean the extensions and modules people have made and shared are REALLY easy to use when someone post them on the official forum. Like Valarian said, you just as a GM download it, put it in the right folder and when people connect to your game they get it too... no biggie :).

I just wanted to second what Tiqon wrote, the official forums go out of their way to develop and coach new comers with extensions and even authoring. In a month's time I went from being kind of a moron with FGs to being able to run full on campaigns in several rule sets with both Developer and Community feedback being fast and actionable.

Uhhm. Do we have any ETA on workshop? It's been a while now, has there been any progress?

@Axel Risolea its a good question. The SmiteWorks guys are just finishing up at Gen Con - hopefully they can give you an update soon. I havent seen/heard any updates on this topic recently as the primary effort has been focused on D&D 5E which is coming along very nicely.

Any news on Workshop integration?

I would also like some news on this

With the D&D licensing deal and the ongoing upgrades to the core product ready for the new game engine there is no further updates on the workshop.

Has Workshop integration has been abandoned? It's pretty clear little if anything has happened with it for quite some time. However, is that because of other pressing priorities or an actual change in the decision to incorporate Workshop?

its just not a priority compared to D&D5e and Unity/FG4. I dont think they have abandoned it - just directing finite resources to highest priorities first.
